The Morning After: February 14, 2009

Submitted by sparty on February 14, 2009 – 8:29 am15 Comments

tma-weekendWhat did everyone do with their Friday night?  I did absolutely nothing.  I sat around and watched my wife clean.

There was nothing really to watch on TV. I was not going to subject myself to the Celebrity All-Star game on ESPN, but I did tune into the Rookie/Soph game on TNT for a few minutes.  However, I turned that off pretty quickly, because I couldn’t put up with the all the screaming that one would probably hear at a Jonas Brother’s concert.  D-Wade also looks like a total tool with that band-aid or whatever that is under his eye.  Wasn’t Nelly doing that about 5 years ago?

It was a big channel surfing night, with the exception of Friday Night Lights.  This season has been awesome. The Riggins are hysterical together.

In the spirit of the NBA ASG, here is a look at some superstars and their aging ways.

The Miami Heat traded Shawn Marion to the Toronto Raptors for Jermaine O’Neal.  This was a wise move for the Heat.  O’Neal will help them to stay competitive until the much anticipated 2010 free agent period, as opposed to Marion who would’ve bolted at the end of this season.

Like I said, nothing really happened in sports, but I did text Miz when I saw a report about Lane Kiffin and another recruiting violation.  Al Davis is still crazy, but maybe he was right on about Kiffin.

David Beckham is not crossing back over the pond to play futbol, he will be staying in the US to play soccer.

10 year old kids are better bowlers than the Penguins.  To be honest, they are probably better than me.  I suck at bowling.

Is John Paxson staying or is he leaving.  He is probably out of Chicago after the season.  He could have had Kevin Garnett, but he though Luol Deng was too much.  Idiot.

Andy Pettitte says that he is not one of the 103 names on the 2003 list of players that tested positive for steroids.  Of course he isn’t, he was on HGH.

Jayson Williams life has been spiraling out of control ever since his NBA playing days ended. First he killed a man “accidently,” and now his wife is divorcing from him. She has a nice list of complaints regarding him.

In the same vain as Mr. Williams, here are some notable sports breakups.  Anyone else looking forward to watching Rodman on the Celebrity Apprentice?

Ok lady and gents, we will see you later on today, maybe?  Enjoy the ASG festivities tonight.  Dwight Howard is not winning the dunk contest.

Celebrity Apprentice is not as good as the regular Apprentice. The Celebrities have too much ego and don’t respect the Donald (looking your way, Simmons) I’ll still watch it though. Rodman’s too much of a freak, will probably be the first to get fired.

D-Wade has the bandaid on because he took an elbow the other night and has stitches.

You’d think since I no longer have a social life that I’d remember that FNL is on Fridays, but nooooo. What did I do? Nothing that exciting, obviously.

I will probably watch .2 minutes of the ASG. I am waiting for baseball to get more exciting than A-Rod stories.

hint: If you are going to buy your sweetie some M&Ms for Valentines Day, find the Valentine-colored ones. Just because Drug Mart was out of them (or said spouse didn’t look very well) doesn’t give you a free pass to buy the regular ones.

We did the Valentine’s dinner with the kids on Tuesday to avoid the rush. Dinner with kids at a busy restaurant is not fun.

    Sparty,

Well if he doesn’t need it anymore, than yeah, it’s lame. But if he does, I like that he’s doing more than the standard bandaid.

spent valentine’s night at home. spent the early portion partying (and taking pictures) at a bar, where a girl stripped to a bra and underwear just for a mobile phone.

I worked of course. Most of today too. But I have Tuesday night blocked off and I’ll be here. How well Purdue plays defensively will be the key.
