Friday Night Lightbulbs
Ok…admittedly my brain is mush. Not from the drugs or the beer or anything like that. It stems more from a deadline I just met yesterday after working 6 straight 10-14 hour days. Here it is Friday night…which is still slow because it is just still nice enough for most of us to be outside doing stuff, instead of indoor on the computer. Whatever…it is always slow here on Friday and I am okay with that.
Public Sparty Announcement: Christmas is now three months away…which also means Kwanzaa and Hanukkah are fast approaching too. If you start procrastinating now, you have roughly 85 days before you really need to go shopping. 89 if you do it like me.
Like I said – I got nothing…and I don’t care whats on TV tonight….I will be drinking beer and catching up on highlights from Tiger taking the lead at the Tour Championship and thats about it….Just hanging and getting ready for the football weekend ahead…what about you?

Joba perfect through 3 innings. Damn. Lester just took a shot. That is just scary to see a pitcher get hit that sudden and hard. Wow, he is down. Hope he is OK. That is just brutal. Also he is pretty much the Sox #1 guy now since he has been pitching better than Becket lately. Wow.

Even as a lifelong Yankee fan, I hate to see that happen. Also Lester came back from Lymphoma which is the disease that killed my mother almost 28 years ago. So I have a soft spot in my heart for him and really hope he is not hurt and makes his next start.

Easy chief… let’s not say things we can’t take back.
I’m a realist. If the Red Sox lose their #1 starter two weeks before the playoffs – and let’s face it, right now Lester is the #1 over Beckett – I don’t like their chances.
Now, if he’s fine and ready to go in five days, then no harm no foul. But as somebody who both pitched for 10+ years and has had his fair share of knee injuries, that looked really bad, bordering on season-ending.

If he can’t go, it just means the Red Sox are down to two good starters like everyone else. Although it would be interesting to see who gets the fourth starter job, Byrd or Wakefield.
