The Morning After:August 24, 2009

By mikeychx

The Morning AfterMorning kids…did you all have a swell weekend? mine was cool. It started out with meeting Fiesta Trio at a Dodgers Cubs game. I blew $300 watching the Cubs get one hit. Good times.

Seriously not bitching, but I kinda am beginning to understand what its like to be a Mets fan..not too long ago, people used to say this about Cubs fans didnt they?

Anyways…its way later than I expected…which means its actually really early..

/ west coast’d

Did I just comment in a post…whats next…a mikeyzone?

Let’s get to the links…Funny…no one at ESPN apparently gives a shit that the US ladies won the LPGA version of the Ryder Cup (its actually called the Solheim Cup…in case you care). I take it back about ESPN…but I flipped over to the golf channel to see the last few minutes and it took a good four hours for ESPN to actually get it on the front page. It only took a Michelle Wie moment to make it happen.

We got some good link ups over the weekend for some reason. Most people aren’t blogging or commenting when it isn’t a workday diversion…does this mean we are growing in popularity?

For starters, AL MVP?

I think we gotta be looking at Mark Teixiera ..you probably think Joe Mauer. Neither of us think Miguel Cabrera do we?

We aren’t a Michigan State blog…but it is still fun to bash Dick Rod and Michigan.Does this make it justifiable?

Ever wonder what would have happened had Plaxico shot himself with his cell phone?

Is Gary Sheffield the biggest cancer of all time? Call me crazy…but I would take Barry Bonds circus over malcontent every time.

Hiring an ex-felon pays? You wonder why the Eagles don’t collect on this and pass the 10k on extra security to kick the PETA people out of Lincoln Financial.

I heart Tim Tebow…no secret there. But I never considered that UF would have to sell success and winning to get him drafted. Classy? Yes…Necessary – hmmmmm.

This just in from the /miz is a redneck section of the blogosphere. Dale Earnhardt Jr. may suck at racing…but his dad helped make the sport safer through his death. also..Danica won’t be rednecking it anytime soon.

I wouldn’t think a million years that Shaq would not make Cleveland a contender in the east…not saying he will win another ring or get LeBron his first…but is this a bit early’d?

How do make up for errors? A game ending triple play of course.

Did you know Ricky Rubio still hasn’t signed with Minny? On the surface I always am amazed these guys poo poo over millions to get a few million more. But i guess if you suck at least you have a few more millions to show for it instead of settling and “actually earning” the money.

Its 230 am here in the west so I letcha go with the following…

Jim Rice is full of shit

Lou Piniella is apparently not to blame for the suck-i-tude that is the Cubs

Chipper Jones wonders when Ugueth Urbina visited his place

Larry Fitzgerald….nice guy – trying to help a team mate and all

Sure i missed some shit…like UBolt getting a piece of the wall, Smoltz winning, Yankees ass raping the BoSox and all…sorry….you dont like it start your own damn blog. In the mean time – I am off to bed. See ya tonight

i sent trey a text last night after the A-Rod HR: “Beckett can suck it.” very mature, i know. trey’s reply you ask? “I will start the Red Sox to move to Charlotte post.”  (Quote)

Smoltz was the heart of your team…without him you’re screwed.  (Quote)

I know. I’m hoping the Sox can acquire a couple of those “kids” from the Chula Vista little league team to help them out.  (Quote)

Everyone pitched poorly in that Yanks-Red Sox series. Well except for that little Japanese guy on Saturday who worked out of a jam in every inning. I really think it had something to do with the hot humid weather from hurricane Bill that was in here over the weekend. At least for me, that incredibly hot weather just sucks the life out of me and I know I had trouble cycling this weekend because of it.

I have to imagine that it gassed some of the pitchers as well.  (Quote)

most of the homers were no doubters. it was just straight up bad pitching.  (Quote)

Yeah, it was the humidity that made Beckett suck. Lets all go with that.  (Quote)

Sick and gruesome, but kinda funny. I guess there is a good reason to get breast implants.  (Quote)

I had no idea that they had serial numbers on them.  (Quote)
