The Morning After: July 23, 2009

Submitted by mizerle06 on July 23, 2009 – 6:30 am20 Comments

tmalogoSo here’s the deal, I’m still stuck in St. Louis for today and most of tomorrow…been here all week.  It’s definitely not a bad city; the downtown is actually pretty cool.  There’s quite a collection of creative architecture in the skyline and it’s all fairly picturesque.  And, I’ve been up in the Arch…I’m just ready to get back home in my own bed.  Oh yeah, I just played 10 games of pool and lost 7 of them. (/miz is a crappy pool player)

Today is Thursday, which means nothing more than one day closer to Saturday…which means nothing more than one Saturday closer to college football time.  So happy Thursday, I guess.  *sigh*

*sigh again* (/miz is tipsy)

By the way, if you ever do make it to downtown (East) St. Louis, you’ve gotta hit Chili Mac’s for breakfast.  I’ve never seen wreck ‘em eggs (diner-speak for scrambled) smothered in chili for breakfast.  It’s absolutely delicious.

Monkeys crack me up.

Since when did Coach O start working for the Mets?

Who hasn’t dropped a dentistry tool down some old dude’s throat?  Could’ve happened to anyone.

The Black Knights are ’bout to become a Bronx staple.

Pimpin’ isn’t an Olympic sport?  Hogwash.

A look at the previous 5 years in college football.

Ricky Rubio is gonna stop being a litle bitch.

How to learn/teach the spread offense.

ESPN’s 2009 college foobaw schedule.

Bon Jovi was living on a prayer in his desires for Dolphins ownership?

A year after riding C.C. to the playoffs, it looks like the Brewers could be at it again with Halladay.

MSM fight!  ESPN vs. The Post.  I don’t even know who to root for…can go the 2008 SEC Championship game route and pull for both sides to lose?

LANE KIFFIN NEWS!!!  Still no QB… (/better when Trey does it)

Whew…good thing Perdoo is stuck with Marve and not my beloved Vols.

I don’t even know what to say about this.

A take on a take about Fav-ruh.

The Texas Rangers have Swine Flu!

The recently-arrested Harvard professor tied to sports

I don’t really know what the story is about…but the picture sure is funny!

SEC Media Days has begun.

I hope you all enjoy your Thursday.  I’ll be sitting through day 4 of Specification for Construction Contracts.

ESPN did out it, but that doesn’t mean the Post should have used images from an illegal video on their front page.

maybe. but that was the story. maybe they never would have used them if ESPN left good enough alone. ESPN made the story what it was by sending legal emails to every friggin site about it.

I agree with GITC. ESPN wasn’t pissed that the Post reported on the EA story, they were pissed that they plastered the barely censored images from the video.

Just confirms my suspicion that ESPN and EA were secretly happy about it. No publicity is bad publicity ya know.

While the person who taped the video did it illegally, it’s reproduction IS legal as a non copyrighted work.

the lawya has spoken. but it doesn’t matter, ESPN has been bashed again, and GITC won’t stand for it!

For the record, I hate Reilly in general nowadays. His ESPN stuff has been horrible. When I read this article…

    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=reilly_rick&id=4299149

I stared at my ESPN the Mag and thought, “Wow. That’s the worst thing I’ve ever read.”

    He’s also horrible on TV.

I wonder how long it will be before Mushnick rips ESPN for the whole Big Ben debacle…assuming he hasn’t already.

and if you read it thinking he was completely serious, you missed the entire point of the article.

O’Reilly showed the video last night, from what i read. Of course, both are owned by Rupert, so no surprise.

Just because he wasn’t serious doesn’t make it a non-completely terrible in every possible way article.

I mean, if you read it from beginning to end, it is just total crap.

…but I’m sure O’Reilly blurred everything from her head down. The Post put a couple small black lines that really didn’t leave anything to the imagination.

not his best work, of course. did he mail one in? maybe/probably. but i thought it was funny, which is what it was meant to be.
