The Morning After: May 16, 2009

tma-2Anyone catch some baseball last night?  I was able to watch an exciting game before heading to bed.  The Yankees were trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the 7th when Brett Gardner breathed life into Yankee Stadium with an inside-the-park home run.  The Yankees followed that up by scoring 4 runs in the 9th inning off of Joe Nathan, including Melky Cabrera’s 2 run single with the bases loaded to win it.  It was the first lead the Yankees had at home in over 48 innings.   You know what just made that game even better?  Waking up to see that the Red Sox blew a 4-0 lead to the Mariners, and lost 5-4.  That made this delicious cup of Verona tastes even better.

The Tampa Bay Rays had a comeback of their own last night, capped off by BJ Upton’s walk-off HR.

He hasn’t shown any signs of letting up. Zack Greinke pitched another gem last night in a Royals win.

Two grand slams helped paved the way to 14 runs scored by the Tigers in their drubbing of the A’s.

The test results for Manny are not sounding too good.  Like they say; where there is a whole lot of testosterone, there is a needle full of roids.  Or something like that.

Michael Phelps is back!  Does anyone even care when it isn’t the Olympics?  I mean, he is the world’s greatest athlete alive, but whatever.

10 Little-Known Facts about the Lakers.  #5 is excellent.

You know what?  It is Saturday, it was pretty much uneventful yesterday in the world of sports. It is the middle of the Spring, stop reading this and go outside.
