The Morning After: March 24, 2009

The Morning AfterI’m going through massive withdrawals right now.  I love the NCAA Tournament.  I have had a rooting interest for the 12 years now, so whenever Michigan State advances to the following round or weekend, I get real antsy.   I just want Friday here so badly.  I want to play Kansas, now!  I want to beat Kansas, now!

Last year I wasn’t as jacked because we were facing Memphis in the Sweet 16. I tried to convince myself that we could beat them, but I just knew that we weren’t good enough. They proceeded to humiliate us.  That is another reason why I can’t wait until Friday. I want us to make up for that horrible defeat from a year ago.

The best thing about the higher seeds winning?  Better basketball.  Get ready for some really good games this weekend.  This years Sweet 16 and possible Elite 8 matchups have the makings of another great year like 2005.

Wonder what games will be called on Thursday and Friday where you live? Awful Announcing has you covered.

The Big Lead ranks the games.

What team has the best name in all of sports?

We are wrapping up our MLB previews this week and plan to follow that up with our predictions later next week.  Josh Q Public has a jump on us.

It is worth mentioning again: An ass retired.

Minor League hockey goalie flips out.

Rush the Court interviews Bill Laimbeer.  I know most of you hate the guy, but Laimbeer was my man back in the day.  You can’t compare him to Rasheed Wallace.  Laimbeer’s head was always into the game, regardless of his whining.

Is Agent Zero going to play this week?

The NBA screwed the Pistons…Again.

You want NFL news???? Here is something to nibble on. The league announced its first batch of games. Just made Thanksgiving interesting this year.

Who cares if Japan is better in the WBC?  Our own players don’t.

Lance Armstrong might not be able to shock the world this year in France.  Or test positive.

It is always positive to see that the rest of the world isn’t taking our President serious.

Run down of all the Format Wars over the last 100+ years.  Nothing was bigger than VHS and Beta.
