A Blogger Gets Laid……Off: NCAA Tournament Live-Blog A

Submitted by mizerle06 on March 19, 2009 – 11:45 am7 Comments

The best thing about being laid off is the newfound freedom that comes with all the newfound freetime.  Yes, there are certain responsibilities that must be taken care of such as hunting for new jobs and bathing.  But one can do those things only so often, right?  Even though there’s the unfortunate side effect of not having a steady paycheck, being jobless also means that if I want to take an afternoon to do something entertaining, I can.  And guess what, I’m doing it again today…NCAA Tournament-style!

However, I’ve got reinforcements this time!  Allow me to go third-person for a bit…fortunately for Sparty, but unfortunately for them, Mizerle06 is not the only jobless blogger that writes for this site; you all know HuskerDawg, right?  He’s gonna be helping Miz out today.  They’re going to be attempting something today that no man, woman, or blogger has ever attempted before* – a simultaneous two-post live-blog.  HuskerDawg will be covering a game or two while at the same time, Miz will be covering a different game.  Comments will be open in both posts.  By the way, the unemployment rate here among the writers at S&F is hovering aroung 22.2%…Sparty sure picks some motivated , cream-of-the-crop guys as his cohorts!

So, while you losers** are at your precious little jobs and winning some bread, we’re gonna be kicking back and watching some college roundball madness.  We’ll make sure to tell you about it though so buckle in, saddle up, spread some more deodorant on…do whatever it is you feel is necessary to get ready for this groundbreaking event because it’s gonna be a wild ride.  That’s what we hope at least.

*We don’t know if that’s true or not; it just makes for a better dramatic effect though if we go ahead and claim that it is.
**Jobs are for losers.

Mizerle06, take it away:

11:45 – Let’s do this again, shall we?  Unfortunately, I’m gonna miss some time this afternoon.  I agreed to help a fellow jobless buddy of mine move across town and he has a couple of final loads to transport from one abode to the other.  So, I’ll be helping to do that for a while this morning and part of the early afternoon.  Int the meantime, check out HuskerDawg’s live-blog until I get back and we’re both rolling along.  Stolen from TMA…today’s games:

Here’s the slate of awesomeness that we can expect for today:

12:20 PM ET LSU vs. Butler
12:25 PM ET Memphis vs. Cal State Northridge
12:30 PM ET Brigham Young vs. Texas A&M
2:30 PM ET Purdue vs. Northern Iowa
2:50 PM ET North Carolina vs. Radford
2:55 PM ET California vs. Maryland
3:00 PM ET Connecticut vs. Chattanooga
5:00 PM ET Washington vs. Mississippi State
7:10 PM ET Texas vs. Minnesota
7:10 PM ET Clemson vs. Michigan
7:20 PM ET Villanova vs. American University
7:25 PM ET Gonzaga vs. Akron
9:40 PM ET Duke vs. Binghamton
9:40 PM ET Oklahoma vs. Morgan State
9:50 PM ET UCLA vs. Virginia Commonwealth
9:55 PM ET Illinois vs. Western Kentucky

Thanks to HawkEye, I think I know which games I’ll get via television – @ 12:20 (8) LSU vs. (9) Butler and @ 2:50 (1) UNC vs. (16) Radford. Here’s to hoping I get done free-lancing as a mover before 1:00.
