The Morning After: December 1, 2009

By mizerle06

The Morning AfterFreaking-a…it’s December 1.  The Christmas countdown is officially on.  I’ve made it about halfway through my Christmas list, so I’m doing pretty well not procrastinating this year.  I don’t have any good, unsolicited holiday season advice for you (I’ll save that for GatorTrey)…I’ll just get right into the links.

So…ummmmm…the Saints were a little better than the Pats last night, huh?

Some bowl projections that probably aren’t as good as GatorTrey’s.

To the surprise of the guy in the cube across from me, Bobby Bowden is said to be hanging ‘em up.

To the surprise of no one, Chuck Weis is told to hang ‘em up.  So, who’s got next?

Dumb concept, but I’ll run with it too: Things Notre Dame could have bought with the money they’ve given Chuck…sounds like they need to get rid of football to me.   And, depression in South Bend?

Sparty and Mrs. Sparty have the exact same baby carrier-thingee.

New, shaky ground for Woods.  Regardless, maybe he doesn’t actually owe anyone anything.

EDSBS Mag: Volume 2, Issue 13.

Mark Ingram is a go.

Brace yourselves…are you sitting down yet?  Ok, good…Maxin Mag may be out of business soon.

You guys been paying attention to college basketball polls yet?  It’s been quite a ride for some authors’ teams so far.

We need more Mehcksikans.” – Sports leagues around the US.

Thanksgiving with some Yankees.  I feel like I was there!

Greg Jennings is a perfectionist.

Rick Neuheisel defends his silly use of timeouts.  Pete Carroll defends his silly use of going deep.

A wired Matt Stafford…pretty good stuff:

I agree, but to suspend him? Chances are he’ll get a diversion program anyway…everyone does for their first criminal charge that is a DUI.

I have a really big problem with him drinking to the point of passing out and getting behind the wheel. If it were something feloneous or even a major misdeameanor like domestic battery, I would probably have to think long and hard about it.  (Quote)

Seriously though I’m surprised they’re not covering, though that might go against the Alexander the great theme they want with him and instead show more of what a dirty player he is  (Quote)

Also some reader’s teams – like Syracuse. Cuse was 24 and 25 in the polls, dropped out after a preseason loss to crosstown div II rival LeMoyne and now is 7 and 8 in the polls. Big OOC game against Florida coming up. That will be a confirmation on how good the team is. They at least need to play them closely.  (Quote)
