The Weekly Spartacast – Episode 10: Spartacast Version 2.0!

By Big D

THIS IS SPARTACAST!Wow. Just… wow.  So, here’s the deal.  We’re trying out a new service for our podcasts over at TalkShoe; same place our friends at CollegeGameBalls host their podcast.  Seems like a good site, nice setup, and best of all – it allows streaming without downloading and also iTunes Subscriptions.  Even better, we’re able to list all of our old podcasts on the site as well, so if you haven’t been able to catch them live, you can catch up at your leisure.  Sweet.

Unfortunately, none of us had ever used it before this Spartacast.  Meaning we weren’t exactly certain how the whole thing worked, and we didn’t actually realize that it started recording us from the beginning.  Normally we record for ten minutes while we discuss what we’re going to be talking about, then it gets edited out.  But not here.

So, you guys get to listen to about twenty four minutes of some of the greatest outtakes in all of podcast history.  Sparty tries to convince Lil’ Sparty that it’s bedtime.  Pat and Sparty argue on the phone about the new technology.  And Sparty and I have a good laugh about any number of things.

The next Spartacast will be cleaner, since we’ve figured out how to clean it up.  But for now, just sit back and enjoy the “cuddle fest”.  You can either listen via the widget below or head over to the site to download it to your computer or sign up for the iTunes automatic download.

First 24 minutes - Yeah… this is nothing but the outtakes.  Laugh it up guys.
25:00 - After we finally get off the ground, we have a clear goal in mind: to piss Pat off as quickly as possible.  So… let the Sanchez ripping begin!
35:00 - We continue down the NFL Path with discussion of the Patriots, Colts, Saints and Vikings
44:00 - Miz makes his Spartacast debut as we discuss Wal-Mart and Black Friday.  No, I’m not kidding.
45:00 - The shift to college football is centered around one basic premise: Who’s next at Notre Dame?
55:00 - Somewhere in this time… yeah.  We went completely off the rails.  I don’t know how we got there or how we got back… I’m just happy to have been a part of it.
1:00:00 - Sparty once met Ted Nugent and asked him about his jerky.  I’ll leave you with that.
1:21:00 - Oooooh… Pat has contacts in the “Inner Circle” at Notre Dame…
1:35:00 - Lil Sparty needs some daddy time, so we need to start wrapping this up…
1:40:00 - The outline of a bet between Sparty and Trey about the Spartans/Gators basketball game!  And I’m not even setting a line on this!  (though, if I had to, I’d set it at Michigan State (-11.5) over Florida, and I’d take the Spartans…)
