NBA Studs and Duds 11/19

By guyinthecorner

sad-logoThere were a dozen games on the slate last night and you know what that means… [when g=games, d=day, and s=sentences]  if g(d) ≥7, then s(g) = 1.

The Cavs lost to the Wiz as Stud Antawn Jamison showed what the Wiz had been missing so far this season. The Hawks beat the Heat and moved to 10-2 (6-0 at home) on the season. The Knicks beat the Pacers in the double shocker involving a Stud performance by Larry Hughes and, of course, the Knicks winning a game. The Thunder lost to the Magic in Orlando as Rashard Lewis is starting to look like he’s coming back. The Sixers, led by Stud Elton Brand, won a thoroughly boring game against the Bobcats. The Celtics beat the Warriors in a game that didn’t need much effort. The Bucks beat the Nets because the Nets are allergic to winning basketball games. The Rockets beat the T’Wolves because the Rockets are a well-run franchise whereas the same can not be said for their northern brethren. The Grizz topped the Clips in a boring game that even I have trouble caring about. The Jazz beat the Raptors despite a great effort by Stud Chris Bosh. The Mavs outlasted the Spurs in OT with a Stud of the Day performance from Dirk once again. And the Blazers beat the Pistons in a match-up that didn’t include Isiah Thomas and Clyde Drexler.

Stay tuned after the jump for the lists and highlights…

He doesn’t watch hockey except when the circumstances are dire. He’s not sure how to rate Michael Phelps on the scale of athletes not only because he doesn’t directly compete against people, but because he is a fish. He doesn’t understand the hate for the 2002 National Champion Maryland Terrapins and wishes everybody would just shut up by now. He is known for having statistical formulas and might be Bill James or Joe Lunardi depending on who you ask. His identity is as hidden as many times over as the number of internet memes he employs in his comments. Some have called him “The Riddler.” He can be reached at gitc@spartyandfriends.com. “GITC” is an acronym for guyinthecorner in case you aren’t that perceptive.
