The Morning After: November 17, 2009

By sparty

The Morning AfterBeing essentially away from the computer for 3 1/2 days was utter bliss.  Sure I checked my emails, and took a peak here and there at the site, but I really stayed away from doing anything site related or even networking related.  It was a much needed break that I would like to have extended at least for an entire week.  Big ups to GatorTrey for stepping up and handling his business while we were short staffed.  I would throw Big D a bone, but it only seems like something catastrophic to a Boston team that we can get something out of him that is not podcast or gambling related.  Just kidding D, nice job. It was the right call to make, and Belichick would continue to be hailed a genius, again, had it worked.

The weather was gorgeous on Sunday afternoon, sunny and mid-60s.  I fell asleep in a lawn chair after devouring baked ziti and meatballs.   Everyone ahead of the Giants in the playoff race losing on their bye was a nice cherry-on-top to the weekend.

The best assistant coach available is of course coaching an undefeated team.  Charlie Strong has brought it during his tenure in Florida.

Smart smart move by Lane Kiffin to kick these kids off the team immediately.  It is going to lessen the negative attention that it will bring to his program.  He doesn’t need anymore.

What it is like to be busted drinking at a Notre Dame game.

Three-point defense is just another thing to talk about, doesn’t mean that it is true.

Just in case you really care who is calling your favorite team during this first full week of college basketball.  I hate Steve Lavin.

Now those were some expensive middle fingers.  Titans fans want this guy gone, I know Miz can’t stand him.

LJ goes from a crap team, to the best team in the AFC North.  Winner?  I’ll let you know when Cincy implodes.

Staying in the great state of TN *snickers*, the Griz say goodbye to Allen Iverson.  Gee, I am shocked that it didn’t workout.  How long til some team submarine theirs season and signs him?

LeBron, yeah, this is going to stop the talking.  You think the media cares if you place a gag-order on yourself? Just going to make them ask more.

“Jimmy” talks to the Sports Hernia.  Ha!

Sammy Sosa’s People  just can’t take a joke.

You knew it was going to happen that everyone would put out their version of Risky Business’ living room, well, here’s the best I have seen:

But who could forget Saved by the Bell doing their version of it:
