The Morning After: November 7, 2009

By sparty

17_nyc_broadwayTime to bite the bullet, fellas.  Tonight I do something I never thought I would ever do.  My 7th anniversary with my wife is this upcoming Monday, but we decided we would celebrate it tonight, since we will be out of town the following weekend.  What is it that we are doing?  We are going to a Broadway show.   My wife loves musicals, I do not.  I used to tell her this would never happened, but when I found out that her favorite show of all-time was returning to Broadway, I could not pass up the opportunity for scoring some major points with her.  While all of you are watching football this evening, I will be watching the Jets and the Sharks go at it.  Yep, West Side Story.

Jose Canseco wants to beat the piss out of A-Rod.  Forget that for one moment, what is up with the full body tattoo?

Matt Holliday is expected to hit the market.  Jason Bay is already a free-agent. If the Mets don’t get one of them, there may be a revolt.

John Lackey will be grabbing a big contract this off-season. This could help the Yanks avoid a 3 man rotation next fall.

Here are you early odds on the World Series next year.   Don’t think you will make much money betting on the Yanks, even if htey win.

Urban Meyer was hit with a 30k fine for this criticizing of the refs.  That number seems ridiculous.  I don’t even believe the professional sports hit you with anything close to that.  With that said, Urban should just STFU.

Nick Satan is promising changes in his red-zone offense.  Considering they won’t reach it often today, not sure if he will have a real opportunity to follow through.

Apparently 10 teams have turned down playing Boise State in 2011.  What do they have gain by playing them?  If they beat them, they are supposed to.  If they lose them, they are screwed.  Sorry, Broncos.  Time for you to force your way into a major conference.

Rutgers and Army will play the first college game ever at the New Meadowlands Stadium.  Wouldn’t it have been cool to see the Kickoff Classic return for this?

Who wants to bet that Jacquizz Rodgers fumbles today?

I back Comcast in this effort.  If they can make something happen, it may finally force ESPN to put quality over douchebaggery.

NFL ratings are up this season.  Probably because people are choosing to stay in and watch the games in their homes as opposed to going out and spending money on Sunday at the mall, or watching games at the bar.

Okay, I got plenty to do prior to the early games today, so I best be going.
