Yesterday we had a pretty heated discussion of sitcoms in the comments of this post. I am a professional television watcher and was amused by the drivel that some of our writers and commenter’s think is good. I also was shocked that certain people actually care what critics think and would name drop one. Allen Sepinwall, seriously? Anyway, tonight a new show premieres on the best basic cable channel ever, FX. They gave us The Shield (moment of silence please……………………………….), Sunny in Philly, Nip/Tuck, Damages and The Riches. The League is about a bunch of doods in a fantasy football league and how it affects their lives. It looks fantastic. It also looks much like many of our lives would look if we all lived near each other during football season. 10:30 tonight. Phillies will be up 8-2 by then, if not, just set the DVR to keep recording when Sunny ends.

i am looking forward to this. probably the funniest thing in Bill Simmons column the last few years was about 3 years ago when his wife dropped the League of Dorks line the first time.

The Riches? Really?
How could someone leave off Rescue Me?!

Loved the Riches, as did “the critics”. Rescue Me was an oversight, I was busy watching TV while writing.

Speaking of, when do we get a Spartygal post?

LOVE “Rescue Me” but admit that we missed that last season. I need to get the DVD set to catch up now.
“Weeds” rocks.

Weeds is about pot.
/Rocks would be about crack.
//Showtime ain’t FX.

Thursday night t.v. is by far the best. Fringe, The Office, It’s Always Sunny, now The League. Should be a good night.

Don’t forget the hidden gem “Sons of Anarchy”. That show kicks ass.

My God, thats my favorite 1 hour show. What was I thinking?

According to Matt Ausiello at ew.com, the truth about what happened to Gemma comes out in the Nov. 10 episode. Should be interesting, to say the least.
