Refer to last week’s debut Power Ranking for the method behind this madness.
There was no wisdom of the masses this weekend, scores were as ugly as some of the games. If you went with our majority on your picks this weekend, you would’ve batted a stellar .500.
I spent my Sunday at Lambeau (7IS, mildly NSFW photos) and didn’t catch a lot of highlights, so I’ll be making a lot of this up as I’m going along.
Teams that elicited the most expletives
#1: Philadelphia: Lost? To the Raiders? Really? I’m not sure more words are needed here, but 100% of our players picked the Eagles with an average of 12.3 points (out of 14). The Eagles moved up 6 slots last week, and with the Redskins this week might actually climb again, meaning they will be overrated a little longer.
#2: NY Jets: 95% selected these guys with an average of 9.8 points. Mark Sanchez (5 INTs) said it best:
Our defense played lights out again, and I just gave that team (Buffalo) the win. It was just a poor day accuracy-wise. I missed a couple of reads. I really let this team down.
The Jets climbed 8 slots last week and kicked everyone in the jewels to thank them. They will also climb more this week when they visit Oakland.
#3: Cincinnati: 85%, 6.6 avg. I was starting to warm up to Cincy before this game, thankfully I only wasted 5 points on them. Houston is getting on my nerves for picks this season. Cincy climbed 4 spots coming into this game and face the equally underwhelming Bears this week.
#4: Seattle: 67%, 5.6 avg. I’ve had enough, no more than 3 points on any NFC West team the rest of this season.
#5: Chicago: 72%, 5.0 avg. This percentage was higher than should have been expected because, as I mentioned in the debut, our group is Bears fan heavy.
Who is ranked too high (if this were a ‘true’ Power Ranking)
#1: Tennessee (0-6): #24. At least they have started dropping.
#2: Green Bay (3-2): At #5, this is a reflection of their soft early schedule. They’ll receive another boost at Cleveland this weekend before QB #4 comes to town the following week. I think they will eventually level out in the middle of the pack where they belong.
#3: Washington (2-4): #13??? That has to be some kind of joke, I picked the Chefs over them last weekend.
Underrated, for now
#1: Denver (6-0): #22, the Rodney Dangerfield of our group and they have their bye this week so they won’t be climbing for a little while. They actually dropped last week, as people still believe the Chargers aren’t frauds. Watched some of last night’s game, Orton looked great and that defensive front is scary.
#2: It would be insulting to Denver to put another team in this category.

Broncos are the best team in football. Can’t believe it.
(Quote)
better than the Saints?
(Quote)
The Cowgirls ahead of the Saints?
(Quote)
denver-NO would be a great matchup, have to wait for the super bowl for it to happen though
(Quote)
saints dropped because a lot of stupid people thought the Giants were the better team last week. actually the picks were pretty even, but it still sunk their ranking
(Quote)
Wait is tuesday also the “my conference is better” day too?
If so it’s spreadsheet day at spartyandfriends
(Quote)
Did you just call Sparty stupid?
(Quote)
GRRRRR! i said that i had no idea what would happen in that game.
(Quote)
Please, explain your logic on this one.
(Quote)
um, no?
(Quote)
also, i’m the genius that benched Brees for Hasselbeck, thinking the Giants would limit him
(Quote)
6-0, wins over Dallas, New England, San Diego, Cincinnati, all above .500. Have the best defense in football, top 10 running game.
(Quote)
I take back San Diego, they are now under .500.
Still think the Broncos d could limit the Saints offense. Orton is the perfect QB for McDaniels system. I hated the Broncos before the season, love them now.
They are better coached than the Saints, giving up only 3 points after the half in the last 5 games is insane.
(Quote)
Drew Brees is a never bench fantasy player, matchups are irrelevant.
(Quote)
i was definitely impressed by them last night
(Quote)
you’re right. but i picked a good week to do it, i lost by much more than the 30 i left on the bench with Brees
(Quote)
Undefeated teams I would go.
1. Denver
2. New Orleans
2. Minnesota
4. Indianapolis
(Quote)
So you’d put the Vikings 1a? 6-0, wins over Green Bay, San Fran and Baltimore. Top three defense, Top running game, Top 2 offense overall.
(Quote)
week 14: Denver at Indy
Denver also at Balt, vs Pitt, vs Giants before that. Big games coming up.
(Quote)
(Quote)
wow, who did the Giants piss off in the schedule maker’s office?
This season at NO, at Denver, at Minnesota
(Quote)
Yeah Denver’s schedule is ridiculous, main reason I thought they would go 4-12. Plus the defense, which I thought would continue to suck with all the upheaval.
(Quote)
The Colts should move up to #1 next week after everyone puts maximum points on them to beat the Rams.
(Quote)
i was going to put my max on NE until I saw the game was in London. i dropped them a few, all the goats in the countryside there might wear Brady out before the game
(Quote)
I fail to see the humor in this.
(Quote)
I don’t. +threeve to sae.
(Quote)
2 of those games were determined years ago, at NO and at DEN. Its part of the play a each division over the four years cycle. When they got the NFC South and AFC West last time they were home to New Orleans and Denver, so this time they go on the road.
(Quote)
technically it was a road game against NO.

(Quote)
i figured the Giants were a 11-12 win team at best when the season started due to their brutal schedule after week 5. we shall see.
(Quote)
anybody want to coach the skins?
shanahan doesn’t
