Big day o’ college football tomorrow followed by a so-so day of NFL games….Saturday and Sunday we get the Prez Cup (36 holes tomorrow followed by the singles on Sunday). Well, I visited my Dad in the nursing home where he moved in on Wednesday. I need to kill myself before I end up like that.

We had a big discussion at work about earned runs and official scoring. I said that if a runner scores on a wild pitch or passed ball then it is an earned run. Only if it is an error will it be an unearned run. My friend at work said that they are not earned runs. Turns out that it is earned on a WP but not earned on a passed ball.
Actually makes sense to me since WP is pitchers fault whereas passed ball is suppposedly not pitchers fault. I did some reading on the official MLB site. Turns out team earned runs can differ from an individual pitcher’s earned runs.

I am disgusted by what just happened. The refereeing in the NBA is a joke, it’s horrible in the NFL, and the rules change in the playoffs in hockey. Baseball has always had the best by far.
