Happy morning to you all. It’s Thursday, specifically the second Thursday in October. What does that mean? Well, it means college football games (Brasky at Mizzou) and playoff baseball games. Yep, pretty good time of the year for a sportsfan.
No BS from me this morning…grab your coffee, Irish it up, and get on with the links:
So lemme guess…you haven’t studied up on this weekend’s college football action have you? I didn’t think so. Lucky for you, esteemed commenter, adjunct S&F writer, and fellow blogger cbh49er has put together a cram session for you.
It only took 50 years, but this dude grew a new skull…only documented case ever.
Last night’s game in the Bronx was likely big business for NYC.
Sad and scary stories: 17-year-old college freshman basketball player collapses and dies. A Samford player died on Spetember 7th. Tennessee Sophomore forward Emmanuel Negedu died a couple of weeks ago, but was fortunately revived. He had a defribrillator implanted and is shut down for the season.
Not only am I playing above the rim/outkicking my coverage/married out of my league…whatever you want to call it, I’m actually benefitting my own health!
Okie State is losing a receiver.
So, the answer to all that ails the Grizz is an injured Answer? I don’t think so.
Points 1, 2, and 3 in the first paragraph should be revised to read “1) Patphish, 2) Mizerle06, and 3) HuskerDawg.”
Dick Jauron gets the dreaded vote of confidence…from the players. That can’t be too bad; it’s usually the vote of confidence from the owner or GM that seals the deal on the upcoming firing.
Timmy Tebow’s back at practice with a new, specially made helmet.
Scott Boras has it out for Gary Sheffield. $5 says Sheffield punches Boras in the neck.
A few people watched Monday Night Football this past Monday.
NASCAR, not just for Southerners (thanks to Knightro’s driver).
Anger management classes for a Bammer.
For all of the feel-goodness that comes out of baseball stories and lore, there’s a depressing trend leaving a bitter taste to balance it out.
Jim Leavitt is trying to keep his USF team team grounded. Somebody else isn’t helping.
Drunk Billy gets his court date.
Couples night out with Jay Cutler and Vince Vaughn. How sweet!!
Fan rape? Probably.
How about some Elisha Cuthbert for breakfast? How about some Elisha Cuthbert for breakfast!

A touch of genius by USF…we’re going throw a billboard up celebrating our win and comparing ourselves to three schools that collectively have 10 of the last 26 National Championships and have finished second 5 more times…
Yes you manhandled the worst FSU team in 33 years…win a conference championship, then come start talking about being in the Big 4.
In other news Wake Forest put up a billboard claiming to be part of the big 4 Nationally of the last 25 years, for owning FSU te last few yeArs…

USF is writing checks their football team can’t cash!

To be fair they’re good…but not THAT good yet. They have Miami Thanksgiving weekend

you all know I don’t really care for baseball. I have no desire to follow a 162-game regular season…wake me up when there’s about 10 to go. I enjoy following the playoffs though so I listened/watched most of the Minny-Detroit showdown a couple of nights ago and was listening to the NY-Minny game yesterday evening on ESPN Radio while driving around. Chris Berman was calling the game and it was awful. it sounded like he hadn’t prepared and had no experience. I wished at the time that I could have recorded it somehow for some playback here to let you guys hear the trainwreck. it was really unbelievably bad.

dammit, forgot a link: Victor Newman leaving “Young and the Restless”

More of a “Days” guy.

It could have been worse, you could have been listening to John Sterling.
(Quote)
in all seriousness, I used to when I would drive from Knoxville to Memphis. I’d scan the XM MLB stations and pick up a Yankees game every now and then. Sterling never bothered me like Berman did yesterday. Berman just really took aways from the game…like somebody talking about choppy, random crap while a baseball game happened to be playing in the background.

I couldn’t listen to Berman if he was telling me how great of a guy I am and handing me a million dollars…the guy fucking blows.
