Started the season without their best player. Lost the first 8 games to their rival. Their high priced FA pitcher was battered his first month of the season. Their brand new stadium became one of ridicule for the first couple months. They didn’t hold sole possession of first place until July 21st, but they would never relinquish it again.
The New York Yankees claimed their first AL East division title since 2006. Heck, that’s a long time for a Yankee fans when you won 8 years in a row. BTW, the Yanks finished their season series against the Red Sox 9-9. They can claim the entire season from them if they meet in the ALCS. Now don’t f it up.
