Seventh inning Stretch: Back to School with JRod

By mikeychx

7is-albaWell, it has finally come. Today marks my long dreaded return to the monotonous endeavor known as school. Although I did have an interview yesterday, that pales in comparison to the tear jerker that is an 8:00 a.m. course. What makes this semester worse than any other is that it is totally unnecessary. The only thing that separates me from a diploma is the impossible to find internship, but until that mythical creature is found, I’m stuck taking courses to remain full-time in the eyes of the University. It wouldn’t be so bad if my original plan had mathematically worked. Basically take all courses your local football player would take: golf, basketball, weight lifting, etc. But unfortunately those one credit courses make it very difficult to add up to 13 credits (the full-time minimum).

It isn’t all bad though. Despite taking four courses, while I await the internship, all of my courses are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Which of course means I have Tuesdays and Thursdays completely free. And being a shortened week, chances are I’ll have very little in the way of actual work this week. This of course is great news, being that the Vikings start their run to Miami the playoffs the first ten picks in the draft this weekend, and the Gophers open their new stadium Saturday night. Not to mention Mikey’s fantasy football draft tonight, and the upcoming plethora of NFL coverage here at Sparty & Friends. It should be an interesting semester and an even more interesting upcoming football season.

Let’s move on to tonight’s action. Not that I really care about baseball anymore.
