I am pleased to report that I am going to be the newest staffer of Sparty and Friends. Expect only good things from me every Monday and on any day that might have interesting news about what is going on in our realm.
There is an underrated and underreported event that is going on in Milan, Italy. My friend will be going there to cover the Homeless World Cup 2009. Their objective is noble and pure and they are really doing justice to the world, making it a better place.
Speaking of doing justice in the world, it is National Heroes’ Day here in the Philippines, where we honor those who represent our country. The Big Lead wrote about a sportsman who is following the route Pat Tillman made. (I hope he can come home safe and sound.)

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the Pats pulled another Troy Brown routine here – telling Bruschi that they were going to have to cut him, and giving him a chance to retire first if he wanted to and save face. WaPo did an article trying this out with a guy in the hunt yesterday, steve marino. if you’re unfamiliar, marino is one of those freaky dudes who can flirt with breaking 60 at the hardest of the pga venues.
he shot 68. marino said it was mostly due to course conditions…even when he found the fairway, there were still little bumps and, often, uneven lies. the rough was unpredictable. the greens were torn to shit.

That is interesting, I hadn’t considered that, I just figured guys like Tiger Woods who are used to scrambling would have no problem with the occasional bad break. But the greens being in terrible condition would probably be incredibly frustrating for those guys. knightwhosaysni(Quote)
