I hadn’t played Madden in probably 4-5 years until Sunday when we stopped by the Best Buy to return our duplicate copy of Gigli. Clowning around the store, I picked up the controller on a 42 inch LCD and played the demo featuring last season’s Super Bowl rematch.
Immediately I’d have to say it’s incredibly realistic looking. Roethlisberger’s throwing motion and hangover were 100% accurate. Hines Ward distinct running style came out well. Mike Tomlin’s expression of “Damn I fell into a sweet fucking gig, I could be Brad Childress right now” was very detailed. Heck they even had the Wildcat formation built in!
After getting my ass kicked for 5 minutes I threw the controller into the $1500 television and ran off dejected. (seriously it was 14 -0 Arizona at the end of the 1st)
It comes out today, and the local shock jocks were saying people lined up all night to be the first to get their copy. My wife and I are very simple people and only have a Wii because the buttons on the other too systems scare us. I’ve heard it’s not the same (which I can believe) so I probably won’t be purchasing it, but if it’s cool enough to keep my attention, it should keep yours.
I should review video games for everyone…

Last time I bought a Madden was a good 6 years ago for Xbox. It didn’t take long for it to stop being fun. Somewhere along the lines, it stopped being a game you could just pick up and play.

It’s more my style. The last time I played Madden before this it was when you had to make your QB look to accurately throw a pass. I opted to run the ball after the first two picks with AJ Feely.

i actually really liked this feature. it kinda sucked for brady and peyton because you couldn’t look guys off as well, but carson palmer was a beast with that stuff.
i hate madden now tho…fight night 4 and soul caliber IV is where it’s at.

I have tried to rewire my Coleco Pong paddle controllers to work with Madden and had no success. Teh QB just runs in circles like teh QBs on teh vibrating playing field.

Well a friend just called and got two tickets to Yankee Stadium tonight! Twice I was going to go this year and never made it so I finally get to see the new Yankee Stadium.
I remember the first time as a young kid, my friend’s parents took us to the newly remodelled Yankee stadium. It was just awesome. It seemed so new and exciting and I was impressed that they had a huge black and white screen in center where they could show moving pictures and not just stats and scores. Craig Nettles even hit a HR.
So now I get to see the new stadium.
