Well there isn’t much going on in the sports world right now to talk about other than baseball, so I thought I’d go ahead and make some predictions that are sure to be way off base. So here goes:
AL East: The Rays had a nice run last year and aren’t doing bad this year, but the Yankees got better this year on every level. The Yankees will win the division and the Red Sox will manage to win the wildcard. Cue ESPN orgasm.
AL Central: The Tigers are currently ahead and this race is going to be tight. The White Sox pull it out in the end though as Peavy makes enough of a difference.
AL West: The Angels are starting to put some distance on the competition here. Gotta think that will continue.
NL East: Phillies will win here. No doubt about it.
NL Central: This one is going to be interesting. The Cards have suspected HGH-er Pujols playing great, but the Cubs are probably a bit better overall. I’ll take the Cubs to win the division.
NL West: The Dodgers are obviously going to win the division. The real race is for the wild card spot. The Giants are only good at home, while the Rockies do ok home and road. The Giants have played more home games so far so I like the Rockies to make the playoffs.
ALDS: Yankees over White Sox, Angels over Red Sox
NLDS: Dodgers over Rockies, Phillies over Cubs
Championship series: Yankees over Angels, Dodgers over Phillies
World Series: It’s 1981 all over again as the Dodgers win! Fiesta Trio rejoices.
On tap tonight: The world series of poker coverage on ESPN resumes from 8-10 with the past champions only tournament.

Hopefully you don’t have a GITC like streak of correct postseason predictions. john(Quote)
3 years in a row? never happen sae(Quote)
Your NLDS cannot happen. Dodgers and Rockies can’t play each other in the first round because they’re in the same division Johnny(Quote)
Well, I did say they’d be way off base. knightwhosaysni(Quote)
I agree with kwsn.
Although a Freeway Series would be ideal (well, not for baseball).

Norman Chad FTW! Dan Harrington in a red sox hat in a hand against Robert Vakonyi in a Yankees hat, Norman says “it’s a red sox-yankees matchup, ESPN has to love this.” knightwhosaysni(Quote)
