The Morning After: July 28, 2009

By sparty

The Morning AfterYep, I am back from my mini-sabbatical. It wasn’t much of one, since I made a couple appearances.  I couldn’t let two of the biggest stories of the week pass without some commentary.  It figures that it happens last week, and now this week will drag on all week and nothing significant will really happen.  Mike Vick coverage has been done to death the last two years, and that other QB who is the who is waiting until the end of the week to decide to play is not gettin getting a peep out of me.  However, what is up with Rachel Nichols? Who did she piss off to be stuck in Hattiesburg, MS for the last couple months?  When she is not there, she gets to be in Minnesota.  No offense to Hawkeye or Graddawg, but not exactly the summer hot spots.

Why not start the day out with NBA trade news. The Hornets and Bobcats look to be swapping centers. I don’t get it.

Are any of these underrated players on your favorite NBA team? I was very disappointed to find out that one of them was on mine.

Just another rumor involving the Bulls and the Knicks this summer, though neither team has actually accomplished anything. Maybe they can do it together. I can’t figure out why the Knicks won’t get a deal done with Lee.

The Pacers are looking to actually add someone to the team that isn’t white. Luthor Head is underwhelming.

Brutus the Barber Beefcake didn’t do a good job filling in for Jose Canseco. Of course this deserves a classic Barber video:

Flair and Million Dollar Man together was pure gold.

The next coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish? I say Tommy Tuberville.

Greg Jones, you are no longer under the radar. I cannot call you underrated anymore.

Fantasy owners take note: Michael Turner to have less carries.

The captain obvious observation of the week comes out of DC. Jim Zorn is on the hot seat.

Javon Ringer will be the starter in no time.

The Madden 10 soundtrack has been released. I might just get the game just to listen to these songs. FRIGGIN HELMET!!!

Congrats are in order to Johnny and Patphish’s wife for the greatness of partying that goes on at Penn State. Trey, very disappointed.

Since Rickey Henderson is in the HOF now, let’s look back at some of the funnier Rickey stories. He claims the John Olerud story is false.

Billy Beane is losing his followers
.

Who the hell is the dude on the left?
