A TRADE! A TRADE!

By GatorTrey

TWTWMLB - Ball in gloveAnd the Sawx make the first move of the post-All Star Break trade craze…adding Adam LaRoche. Nothing to get giddy about, but it’s a move.  More than likely Youkilis moves to 3rd and Lowell comes off the pine. Seriously though….what a shit player to add.

The Jays are saying talks to move Halladay will pick up next week after smokescreening the lack of interest yesterday. Apparently the White Sox made and offer and were shot down! It only shows that beggars can be choosers.

The Brewers are apparently looking at a deal that might send them Cliff Lee.

The Rays are faking interest in the above two pitchers. (They’re not trading their loaded farm system for either of those guys).

The Cubs are thinking reliever.

The Mets claim they are not willing to trade prospects to get help…the truth is they have no prospects and are fucked.

…And surprisingly missing. The Yankees. Not a peep outta the Tampa or New York offices. Which is almost like the class whore missing out on a Friday night party.

Discuss.

Seriously did the Sox think that adding another .250 hitter would raise their average? Or were they just Jonesin to do a deal with the Pirates to say they did?

Apparently he’s hot second half hitter for his career (.900+ OPS).

LaRoche is a notoriously hot second half player, and Theo’s been trying to get him into Fenway for years.

When Lugo comes off the books and is paid a stupid of money to just go away, the Sox will have a roster spot open for LaRoche.

I could see .270/12/45 the rest of the way, and I’d be very happy with that.

Lugo isn’t on the 25 man roster now. Lowrie took his spot.

I remember way back in the day, when Obama was the greatest President in the history of Earth. Those were good times.

    Politics aside…
Cardinal Nation let out a huge sigh of relief today when the abysmal Chris Duncan was optioned to Memphis, presumably to make room for either Glaus or K. Greene(GM John Mozeliak said the roster move would be “an internal one”). As a Cards fan, I’m glad they finally sent Duncan out, but neither Glaus nor Greene is an upgrade., IMO. Glaus can’t throw more than 50-60 feet(literally) without pain, and who knows if/when Greene will have a relapse of his social anxiety disorder. And just last week, Mozeliak said there was no longer an urgency to make a trade. Roughly translated, that means “Our owner, Bill DeWitt, told me I couldn’t make any trades that will increase our payroll, or make us more than just ‘competitive’ ; no matter how much Tony and Albert cry for help.”
