The Morning After: Blame Mikey

By sparty

The Morning AfterWhy have there been so many TMA’s that have been going up late?  Blame Mikey.  Usually I wouldn’t call out one of our writers in a post, but when you have left me hanging about 3-4 times in the last couple of months, you get a public lashing.

Now Mikey is a busy guy this week, this vacation of his is very rough.  I was supposed to receive TMA via email so that I could copy and paste it for him, but he dropped the ball on that too.  Is this a trait of Cubs fans?  Dropping the ball in the most crucial of times?  Not coming through in the clutch?  Come on Mikey, where are those Gator fan qualities?

I will be receiving an email from him shortly, saying he is sorry and that he will cover Friday for me. But just in case, I will make sure something is in drafts before I hit the sack on Thursday night.

Something I have always been surprised with is the lack of Reds fans that we have on the site.  I always thought of them as a really popular team.  Anyway, looks like they are ready to finally be buyers in trading.  They are looking at Holliday and Matthews, Jr.

Manny may be back, he may even piss clean.  However, Chris Young just is telling it like it is.

Could the Red Sox be interested in plucking Victor Martinez from the Indians.  Trade him out of the league!

Let’s keep the rumors circulating.  The Phillies are checking out Erik Bedard.

Ryan Braun thinks the Brewers need more pitching.  Really? Ya think?  Losing Ben Sheets and CC Sabathia kinda weakens a staff.

Piniella is expecting the Cubs to go on a big 2nd half run.  I felt like Piniella when I went to bed the last couple nights.

Tony Romo says this offseason has been the best ever.  Probably because he had an extra couple weeks off.

Chris Henry is motivated! Because it is a contract year.  Duh!?!?

This is when you start to feel old. When you see guys that left college the year you went in and you realize they have been playing in the pros for 11 years.

Somebody needs to tell Daunte Culpepper that the Lions expect Stafford to start week 1.

Braylon Edwards is getting ready to run a lot of short routes.  Get ready for Mangini-ball, Browns fans!

Rip and Boozer talks continue.  Of course, the Pistons still don’t have a coach and Summer League starts this week.  But hold up, the Bulls may get Boozer too.

Rasheed signed with the Celtics, so the Spurs are looking at McDyess and Big Baby. Now one of those would be smart.

I mentioned it in the comments, via GatorTrey last week. Gortat could be on his way to the Mavs.

Tiger Woods plays golf with a lot of white guys.

LeBron James performed on stage with his future boss.

No sport in that is popular in the US would ever be involved with gambling or tax issues. /sarcasm.

First his wife, now his mom. Ya gotta feel for Lefty.

The Indians would want half the Red Sox farm system for him and Theo won’t do that.

    Yanks would, though.

not anymore. the Yanks have not been emptying out their farm system in the last 3 years, which is why they haven’t made any big time trades. They gave up garbage to get Nady and Marte. Of course, they are both spending quality time together on the DL.

…because they haven’t had anything to empty out.

partly true. but the twins were the ones that wanted kennedy and hughes, and the yanks said no.

OK, so there is a memorial service for MJ today at Staples Center. LAPD will deploy 3200 officers. And no one is complaining about the cost of this to the city? I’d rather have a Lakers parade than a freaks memorial service. My tax dollars hard at work.

yeah, he probably does. i never thought avery johnson was realistic. he has 8 million that he is still getting from the Mavs, and why would he give that up for a job he knows that won’t give him security.

You wanna know who left college the year I went in? Glad you asked. Terry Bradshaw, Mel Blount, and Mike Holmgren, just to name a few you might have heard of. Oh yeah; Mark Harmon was in his senior season and the starting QB for UCLA when I was a junior at my alma mater. You feel old? Get back to me in about 20 years.

    /my lawn, get off
