The Morning After: July 6, 2009

By sparty

The Morning AfterOnce again, we apologize for the delay for the Monday morning TMA.  We always try to have this up as early as possible, because we know several of you start your day bright and early and this is somewhere near the top of your bookmarks.

We do hope that you enjoyed your holiday weekend, and sorry to a couple of you that were unable to enjoy Friday off.

I had a picnic with a mountain lion and some monkeys.

Yesterday started off with a real instant classic.  That gets thrown around a lot, but the Men’s Wimbledon Final was really amazing and historic.  Andy Roddick was phenomenal with his serve for the entire match, and was not broken until the 30th game in the 5th set. Unfortunately, that would be he is undoing, as Roger Federer won Grand Slam #15.

The All-Star votes are in. Pujols was your Major League leading vote getter. Guess who led the AL?

Just another Top 10 list.  The Top 10 Depressed Fan Bases.

Tiger Woods won his own tournament, and is now poised to destroy everyone at The Open.  It is going to happen. It won’t be pretty.

Sheed to Boston > Shaq to Cleveland.  Believe that.

Could another former Piston be on his way to Beantown as well?

Looking more like a murder/suicide in the tragic death of Steve McNair.

Meth can really ruin ones career.

FSU is still fighting a futile battle with the NCAA.

Well, Sprewell isn’t just worried about feeding his kids, but paying his mortgage too.

Just another reason to not like Vijay Singh.

The AL Leading vote getter drinks. OMG!

I think it’s far more likely Lance Armstrong was a doper than that Mayfield is a meth junkie.  (Quote)

FSU is only fighting that battle so that the wins don’t come off Bowden’s record. That’s all they care about  (Quote)

I’m still trying to figure out how Jeter led the AL in votes? All the rich people at Yankee Stadium must have had their butlers and maids working overtime to fill out ballots.  (Quote)

The people in charge of awarding gold gloves were stuffing the ballot box.  (Quote)

Pooholes plays the entire game and the rest fill out the HR Derby roster. Problem solved.  (Quote)

Jeter is the kind of player I would ike no matter which team he played for. He plays hard and the way the game is supposed to be played. He comes through when you need him to, never says stupid things in interviews. Also nobody has ever suggested he took any roids. Classy individual.  (Quote)
