My kids were in Wisconsin with grandma and grandpa all weekend, so I pulled out of God of War for the old PS2. It’s not a game that can be played with young eyes around. Anyway, it’s kind of a hoot running around bringing violent ends to various mythological beasts. That got me thinking, if I could be a character from any video game, would it be Kratos? Awesome power, magic from the gods, beautiful women begging for your attention…there are some perks.

Or is there someone else’s shoes I’d like to step into: Link, Mario, Samus (Metroid), Lara Croft? Maybe a Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter character?

Considering Link and Mario seem to always be left with blue balls, I’m leaning towards Kratos. Do you have any other good suggestions?

You could throw sports video games in there as well, but then everyone is going to want to be Tecmo Bo.

- ARod missing AS game for the first time since ‘99
- Mildly surprised Trevor isn’t in (until I looked at the other closers’ numbers), but if my players are borderline I prefer them to stay home and rest. ASG completely f-ed up Corey Hart last year
- Josh Hamilton? Do the fans even watch the games? Shitty numbers and hasn’t played since May…aside from Crawford and Hunter already as reserves, anyone hear of Lind, Cruz, Dye…?
- One Cub and it’s Ted Lilly?! That I wouldn’t have predicted before the season started
- And if I counted correctly, my fantasy baseball team has 10 All Stars…so they’re a popular bunch if nothing else
