CBH had the 7IS on time but I was stuck and emailed Miz who didn’t check his email….so….enough excuses. Here is another award winning edition of CBH 7IS.

Everyone in the United States is gearing up for the big July 4th weekend as we celebrate America’s 233rd birthday. I have always had good times on the 4th but had never had anything too crazy transpire. That all changed last year. I was at my friends place for a July 4th/birthday party for him and we decided to go set off some fireworks he had procured from another state. Near his house was a pretty open field so we started setting them off there. We were about 10 minutes into doing this when we saw sirens. I have had some unfriendly run-ins with law enforcement in the past and while this wasn’t that big a deal, my intoxicated self decided my best decision was to run as fast as I could.

I headed straight for the woods, probably running faster than I ever have in my life. I made it to the woods but then tripped over something and fell flat on my face. So I got up, hid behind a tree and waited out the cops. I could hear them talking to some of my friends who had decided not to run. Every so often the cops would flash their lights near the woods and near me, increasing my anxiety. After about an hour of this, the cops finally let my friends go. I waited a little while to make sure the cops were gone, and then walked back to the party.
Remember when I said I was running and fell flat on my face? Well a few days later I noticed a rash was forming in the shape of an arrow on my face. Even worse the rash pointed right to my mouth. That rash was poison ivy. I am sure many of you have had poison ivy, it is an awful, terrible thing. This was the second time in my life having it. The constant itching, the way it looks, the blisters, all terrible. Already a memorable night, me getting poison ivy on my face etched July 4, 2008 as a night I will never forget.
This year I will be going to Virginia Beach for the 4th. I should have a great time but am hoping to come back home completely healthy and without any sort of ailment. Do any of you have any crazy July 4th stories to share? Hope everyone has a great 4th!
