Seventh Inning Stretch: For Real-ity?

By mikeychx

stergerraysWednesday Night 7IS brought to you by Two Big Boobs

Since the sports world, for the most part, has slowed down for the summer; I’ve found myself watching a lot of reality television lately. As much as I hate the world of reality television, it seems virtually impossible these days to avoid it. It becomes especially difficult when you’re living at home and have little to no control of what’s on until about nine o’clock at night, I’m sure some of the married men out there share the same experience.

Now I wouldn’t say that all reality television was bad necessarily, but for the most part the genre has been played out. Having a wealth (or maybe better a debt) of reality program viewing time, I know the least liked person is sure to win the shows like Survivor, Big Brother and the Amazing Race (one of the few shoes I actually enjoy). I also know that no matter what they say, the Bachelor(ette) will invariably choose someone they think is their soul mate, only to be separated by the time the reunion show takes place. But this rant is really off topic of what I really want to discuss about reality television. What I want to know is if you had to be on a reality show, which one would it be?

Now, if you’re single the Bachelor wouldn’t be such a bad choice. Even if you knew things weren’t going to last you’re still essentially dating a dozen or more women at once; and on top of that you’re living in a mansion while doing it. The same can be said for a show like the Real World, although chances are you’re going to get into a fight with someone before all is said and done. But, if that doesn’t bother you then you’ve got a summer worth of boozing in a decent home in a generally warm climate. If instead world travel is your thing, the Amazing Race wouldn’t be such a bad decision either. That being said, if I had to be on a reality show I’d want to spend as little time as possible doing it, have some fun, limit the time span in which I could make a fool of myself and possibly makes some money as well. I know Miz would be in agreement with me, the best show to be on (although it may be more a game show) is Wipeout. I guarantee I’d make an ass of myself, but at the very least I’d get a nice workout out of it. Now let’s hear everyone else’s opinions.

Today’s hardball.

Boston at Baltimore
NY Mets at Milwaukee
Minnesota at Kansas City
Colorado at LA Dodgers
Detroit at Oakland
Philadelphia at Atlanta
Chicago Sox at Cleveland
Seattle at NY Yankees
Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh
Arizona at Cincinnati
LA Angels at Texas
San Francisco at St. Louis
Houston at San Diego

By the way, I’m finishing the second half of the second season of Chuck, which I had given up on. What did the other Chuck watchers think of it?  (Quote)

I hate this show sooooo much…and I that hate they still call it The Real World, when in fact it is nothing like the real world. The first season fit the name, now it should just be called The Retarded Drunk Attention Whore Show.

    /MTV and VH1 suck

Couldn’t agree more. I haven’t watched MTV in about four years. If it isn’t the drunk meat heads beating each other up, it’s that god forsaken Hills that continues to air.  (Quote)

The Amazing Race. That being said, I’ve never watched it. I’m just taking your word for it that I’d be doing some travelling on someone else’s dime.  (Quote)

I think only me, Johnny, and sae are really Chuck watchers…personally, I love the show and am really glad they gave it a go for another season.

As for a reality show, my first choice would be Amazing Race…of course that would only be worth it if I made it to at least the top 4 so I really get to see a lot of new places without having to pay for any of it.  (Quote)

Never really watch any reality TV. I watched the Ozzy show a couple of times but that is about it.

NOt much mention today about the huge Oriole comeback yesterday. Today seems the Red Sox beat the Orioles. At least the Yanks kept winning.  (Quote)

Chuck is amazing. I’m beyond glad that it’s back for a 3rd season. for me it was the third best show on tv behind Lost, and the Office

Only reality show worth anything is the Amazing Race. I really want to be on that someday  (Quote)
