I would have had the Spurs at #1 on my win-list. I see Blair starting for them by the end of next season (and certainly able to contribute minutes to the rotation this year), and both of the other guys are talented enough to have an impact.

I think you might have been a little hard on the Wizards, though. I applauded the move at first — this draft didn’t have five players that I thought were more talented than what they got in return. Rubio dropping to #5 had to be a real gut-punch for those executives…

I wish Bill Simmons had gotten the GM job, he would’ve made the right call and taken Curry at 6. Rubio wouldn’t be having such a hissy-fit if we hadn’t taken another PG.

Jim Boeheim was on Mike and Mike before the draft. He was really high on Thabeet but really down on Rubio. Kind of the opposite of your analysis.

Thabeet is an interesting player. You can’t teach 7′3″. He will put some muscle on that thin frame. Not all teams are looking for offense from a center. If they want defense and rebounds, he’s their man. I think #2 is kind of high for him but it depends on a team’s needs. Not sure he is a great fit for Memphis.

They took Jonas Jerebko who is not bad as a prospect, but is again, a prospect.

he’s Swedish! they drafted him for the Red Wings
