The Morning After: June 20, 2009

By sparty

tma-weekendGood Saturday morning to all of you.  Did you all have a nice Friday night? I hope so.  There is a good chance that no matter where you live, you better get any enjoyment out of the last day of Spring, early.  I am just guessing that Florida is going to get rain and some point today, because that is what it does there.  We have had an over abundance of rain up here in the Northeast all Spring long.   Doesn’t look like that is going to change today, or even tomorrow when the first day of Summer is here.

Enough about the damn weather.  Even though it has played huge part over at Bethpage Black and the US Open.  So what fools had Tiger running away with this thing?  Seriously, guy had been out of golf for less than a year following major knee surgery.  You didn’t really think that he would just go out and dominate each week again this early?  Just like any other athlete that gets sidelined with a knee injury, it takes sometime to regain old form, or as close to old form as possible.  I am sure if Tiger doesn’t end up on the leaderboard Monday afternoon, there will be people squawking that he is not the same golfer, but give the man a break.

Guess who was a jerk while making a reality show?  I will give you a hint O.T.

This is actually a huge concern of mine with Eli.  He is getting used to throwing to shorter receivers.  When the Giants scouted him out of Ole Miss, he was known for high throws. Hence why they went out and got Plaxico Burress, and eventually drafted Kevin Boss.  Plax is gone, and his starting wideouts are all 4 inches shorter or more.

Speaking of Plax, the Jets really want to sign him, but are waiting to see how his legal proceedings go.  Thanks for that bit of info Woody.  Never would anyone figure out why you had not offered him a deal yet.

Chargers are still thinking about putting in an oceanside stadium.  They need to do this and leave a western exposure open in the endzone.

Saints fans better hope that Sean Payton means that they learned that there is a thing called defense when he says his players had their best offseason program.

5 More weeks until camp!!!

I hope the Yankees don’t sign Pedro, unless he can go 6 innings each start.

Bob Ryan is more suspicious of Dominican players than anyone else. When will Bob Ryan talk about the need for a players wife to get knocked around again?

Not sure how you can rate Blake Griffin higher than any of the other 9 top picks of the last 10 years, but whatever.  How is LeBron #1? I keed, I keed.

Mascot, good. Dry Humping Shark Mascot? GREAT!!!

I do not remember this commercial, it had to be regional. But to hear Clemens say he is fully clean is really ironic

That commercial got me thinking, remember the old “Iron Head” Craig Heyward commercial? “But Iron Head, what’s withi this thingy?”

MoonDogSports has put together a list of some uniforms you wish you never saw.

Federer’s path to immortality just became a whole lot easier.

With Father’s Day coming up tomorrow, here is a list of athletes on HHR that have carried the name.

Hey guys, we are going to be opening a comment thread starting today for all sporting events taking place. You can expect this each weekend.  We hope to start posting more on the weekends too, especially with football season creeping around the corner, so be sure to check things out.

I am going to take my son to see “Up,” today.  You kids be good.
