The Morning After: April 23, 2009

By mizerle06

tmalogoGood Thursday morning to yall.  We’re one day closer to the weekend, and it’s looking like it’s gonna be a good one.  The weather’s really warming up down here in northwest FL.  We’ve had an awesome last couple of days and today’s supposed to be even awesomer.  I’ve been working on a pretty sweet farmer’s tan; and I’ve gotta say, the foundation has been set for a beauty.  The sky’s clear this morning so the conditions are ripe for a great sunrise…I may run over to the beach real quick as soon as I finish up TMA so I can go see it.  (jealous of my laid-offness yet!?)

I’d like to start off this morning with a couple of links that I’ve been saving for a few days.  I know we joke that “Miz is a redneck” periodically…ok, every day…but let’s put it in perspective:

Perspective 1

Perspective 2

Now…Miz is a redneck?  REALLY!?

Well, now that we’ve got that out of the way…Sanchez > Stafford…I bet Pete Carroll still thinks his guy sucks though.

The BCS committee is considering aspects of the MWC-proposed playoff?  Raise you hand if you read the story and think the previous sentence should be re-written as “The BCS committee placates the MWC for a few minutes.”

Mark your calendars for December 1, 2009…UNC and Michigan State in Chapel Hill

Stephen Curry to announce his decision this morning…Tyler Smith already did, but won’t hire an agent.

Xavier Henry has officially defected from Memphis.  Good riddance…I hope you trip over a corn stalk.

Great story about Michael Oher.

Remember that time our dear ol’ bossman, Sparty, told us how Flip Saunders should be coaching somewhere?  Well, the Wizards front office has a reader!  We should get a finder’s fee or sumpin’.

Kevin Harvick and Casey Mears are getting a little swingerish with their pit crews.

The Lions are working on a deal with Matt Stafford to make him the #1 pick.  Since it’s not Mortenson reporting this, I may believe it.

Ex-Jag WR Jimmy Smith got pulled over and the officers found some crack and mary jane.  He should have simply said “I have no idea where that came from, but Matt Jones was riding with me a couple of days ago so…”

So all those horses died from vitamins?  Excuse me for a minute while I bury my Flintstones in the yard…maybe the freaking moles will eat them.

I think GITC will be bringing us a bit more on this later, but here’s the original story about a highschool baller leaving school early for Europe.

Wait a minute…Romo had birthday golf and Jessica wasn’t there!?

Jerrell Powe can read?  I’m not buying it.

Looks like Jay Cutler is trying to rival Sexy Rexy in the Chicago nightlife scene.

The Yanks are tightwads!

I hope you guys enjoy your Thursday.  Off to the beach for a few.
