The Morning After: March 26, 2009

By mizerle06

tmalogoAaaaaand, we’re back!  Big boy hoops starts back up tonight!  It’s about time, huh?  The layoff has been a long and tough road to travel but we’ve all pulled through and will be rewarded for our persistance this evening.  Here’s the NCAA tourney schedule for tonight:

7:07 PM ET Purdue vs.  Connecticut
7:27 PM ET Xavier vs.  Pittsburgh
9:37 PM ET Missouri vs.  Memphis
9:57 PM ET Villanova vs.  Duke

So, all that being said, good Thursday morning!  We’ve got a big day planned around these parts between the S&F Movieology opening round kicking off at noon and college basketball this evening.  Let’s get right to it.

How ’bout some links, eh?

To help you undigest your breakfast: Andre Smith’s rack.  Looks alienish…

The Scout 300 has been released for the 2010 college football class.  Let the cheating begin!

The #2 overall pick in the ‘03 NFL Draft is heading to jail for a few days.  He also likes to talk in third person.

4 elbeez, 4800 calories!?  Oh Jeebus!  That’s a big burger.

The Lady Terrapins have the most bizarre motivational tactics – careful or they’ll eat your kids.  Fear the Turtle, ideed.

Stuff like this fascinates me…cold fusion may have been recently rediscovered.  This reminds me of a movie that will grab my attention every time it’s on the tube - The Saint.

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard ESPN’s take on the alleged UConn men’s roundball recruiting scandal.  Let’s go back to the source of the info this morning.

Notre Dame knocked KY out of the NIT last night.  Was it Drunk Billy’s last game?  By the way, when asked about his judgement of his record at KY, Drunk Billy said this:

There’s only one judgment I’ll ever be concerned about, and I hope I pass that judgment. That’s the only one I’ll ever be concerned about, and I’m really proud that that’s the only judgment that will ever have a real effect on me, and I hope I pass that one with flying colors.

ESPN seems to think this judgement refers to KY’s athletic director.  Come on, guys…he’s talking about religious judgement.  What are they saying in Lexington?  He seemed uncharacteristically relaxed for a dood that could be out of a job in 48 hours?  Why is no one asking the important questions, like what does Ashley Judd think?

Kobe, brah, you gotta treat people better.  No bending randon hotel girls over chairs and no harassing and humiliating maids.

The Cavs set the franchise record for wins in a season last night in their victory over the Nets.

More trouble for Mr. Vick.

Now that they’ve passed all the new sissy rules, the NFL would like to consider a longer season.

So, if I flash my lights first at pedestrians, is it then ok for me to run them over?

Favre to the Browns!

Today is the 30th anniversary of the epic Bird vs. Magic NCAA title game.

Alright, here’s the deal for today’s S&F Movieology – we’ll open the first round at noon p.m. with the Baseball Region, add the Basketball Region at 1:00 p.m., bring in the Football Region at 2:00 p.m. sharp, and round out the opening round at 3:00 with the Others Region.  Voting in the polls will remain open until precisely midnight tonight.  Get your votes in and may the best movie win!

UPDATESaint Mary’s lost and was jobbed in the process.
