Aaaaaand, we’re back! Big boy hoops starts back up tonight! It’s about time, huh? The layoff has been a long and tough road to travel but we’ve all pulled through and will be rewarded for our persistance this evening. Here’s the NCAA tourney schedule for tonight:
| 7:07 PM ET | Purdue vs. | Connecticut |
| 7:27 PM ET | Xavier vs. | Pittsburgh |
| 9:37 PM ET | Missouri vs. | Memphis |
| 9:57 PM ET | Villanova vs. | Duke |
So, all that being said, good Thursday morning! We’ve got a big day planned around these parts between the S&F Movieology opening round kicking off at noon and college basketball this evening. Let’s get right to it.
How ’bout some links, eh?
To help you undigest your breakfast: Andre Smith’s rack. Looks alienish…
The Scout 300 has been released for the 2010 college football class. Let the cheating begin!
The #2 overall pick in the ‘03 NFL Draft is heading to jail for a few days. He also likes to talk in third person.
4 elbeez, 4800 calories!? Oh Jeebus! That’s a big burger.
The Lady Terrapins have the most bizarre motivational tactics – careful or they’ll eat your kids. Fear the Turtle, ideed.
Stuff like this fascinates me…cold fusion may have been recently rediscovered. This reminds me of a movie that will grab my attention every time it’s on the tube - The Saint.
By now, I’m sure you’ve heard ESPN’s take on the alleged UConn men’s roundball recruiting scandal. Let’s go back to the source of the info this morning.
Notre Dame knocked KY out of the NIT last night. Was it Drunk Billy’s last game? By the way, when asked about his judgement of his record at KY, Drunk Billy said this:
There’s only one judgment I’ll ever be concerned about, and I hope I pass that judgment. That’s the only one I’ll ever be concerned about, and I’m really proud that that’s the only judgment that will ever have a real effect on me, and I hope I pass that one with flying colors.
ESPN seems to think this judgement refers to KY’s athletic director. Come on, guys…he’s talking about religious judgement. What are they saying in Lexington? He seemed uncharacteristically relaxed for a dood that could be out of a job in 48 hours? Why is no one asking the important questions, like what does Ashley Judd think?
Kobe, brah, you gotta treat people better. No bending randon hotel girls over chairs and no harassing and humiliating maids.
The Cavs set the franchise record for wins in a season last night in their victory over the Nets.
More trouble for Mr. Vick.
Now that they’ve passed all the new sissy rules, the NFL would like to consider a longer season.
So, if I flash my lights first at pedestrians, is it then ok for me to run them over?
Today is the 30th anniversary of the epic Bird vs. Magic NCAA title game.
Alright, here’s the deal for today’s S&F Movieology – we’ll open the first round at noon p.m. with the Baseball Region, add the Basketball Region at 1:00 p.m., bring in the Football Region at 2:00 p.m. sharp, and round out the opening round at 3:00 with the Others Region. Voting in the polls will remain open until precisely midnight tonight. Get your votes in and may the best movie win!
UPDATE: Saint Mary’s lost and was jobbed in the process.

No better way to start the day than to think of Elizabeth Shue.

forgot to ask, do we each get 25 votes like MLB AS voting? it’s so much more impressive when someone gets 1mil votes instead of only 40k
(Quote)
you know what, sae? I don’t know. we’ll have to ask the polling expert (sparty) whenever he decides to roll his tail outta bed.

looks like your favre link is a dup of the one above it, which is probably a good thing
(Quote)
the Saint rules! great soundtrack too.
(Quote)
In re: Gillipie. What was he doing in Lexington around town to warrant the speculation? Was he going out to bars and stuff?
(Quote)
No St. Mary’s losing? They were jobbed!

rick – he has a prior DUI and he’s always been a jackass to the media and supposedly to boosters as well.

sae, having Favre take over as qb for your team is like getting run over by a car going 50 mph. You never see it coming until it’s too late and then it takes away all desire to live.

+1 kwsn.
(Quote)
thanks, sae. should be fixed now.

updated, trey. my bad.

The Celtics lost and were jobbed in the process too.
(Quote)
jobbed by D-Ho?
(Quote)
David Price optioned for AAA. This is why we haven’t had our fantasy draft yet.
(Quote)
Jobbed by D-Ho and the refs. D-Ho clearly fouled P-Pi with a few seconds left in the game and the refs didn’t call it.
/Celtics in 4

If I had to guess who the Farrelly brothers were going to get to play Larry, Moe and Curly in The Three Stooges movie…I never would have guessed these guys.
‘Three Stooges’ coming together at MGM

so what you’re saying John is Dwight Howard > Paul Pierce? I’m glad that’s cleared up.
(Quote)
None of those guys have curly hair John. That’s a traveshamockery if I ever saw one.
(Quote)
LETS GO BOILERMAKERS!!!
(Quote)
They’re going to have to have one of those hot shooting games like they did on March 17, but I’m hopeful.
(Quote)
February 17 I meant.
/oops
(Quote)
If we’re referring to cheating, then yes Howard > Pierce.

I would love nothing more than to see Purdue Pete in his pink S&F hat celebrating at midcourt tonight but…and it pains me to say this…I picked RVUH in my bracket. So I am torn.
(Quote)
It will be joyful to see D-Ho above The Truth in today’s S&D (if Pierce even appears)
(Quote)
because of the Movieology Tourney today, S&Ds will be incorparated with Happy Hour.

RVUH = Recruiting Violators UConn Huskies?

John,
Howard fouled? He jumped straight up, it’s about time the refs start calling teh rules as they are written and quit calling fouls because someone like Pierce (or Lebron or Wade, etc) decides to go crashing into the lane to try and draw a foul
There was no foul there and all THREE announcers agreed.

Sparty – I can distinctly remember watching the Byrd/Magic matchup when I was 15. Epic. One of the first games I can remember not caring who won as long as it was well played. I can also remember the media hype at the time (which was nothing compared to now).
(Quote)
@miz – BINGO!

Sparty David Price will be up by the end of May.

F Perdew. Will, Frank and the Makers.

knightro- I wasn’t alive for it.
(Quote)
I don’t think what Howard did should be a foul, but in today’s world of horrible NBA refs that’s a foul and it would have been called on just about any other big man in the league.

price being optioned this year = longoria being optioned last year

Did I seriously type “Byrd”? I need my Count Chocula!

According to tWWL this morning T.O. has made a statement that he won’t appear at Bills workouts unless they are mandatory but has “graciously agreed” (my words) to attend the team’s June mini-camp

If they don’t vote cheats into the HOF, then can they take cheats like Calhoun out of the HOF?
Also NY Times, ESPN and all the media are citing the Yahoo story. I use yahoo as my main source of sporting news for a while now and think they do a good job. Stories like this will elevate their status.

re: cowboy cake
Just a generic cake in a pan with some nuts

cycledan-according to the numbers, a lot of people use Yahoo Sports. Having Rivals as apart of their site has driven their stats through the roof. it is the most visited sports site. It is also not filled with flash and autoplay videos. just give me the news man.
