Happy Hour: The Loooong Break

By mizerle06

new-happy-hour-logo-copySo, after four straight days of survive-and-advance, do-or-die, sudden-death, single-elimination hoops, we’re supposed to just chillax and wait for more for three days!?  This is ridiculous, egregious, incorrigible – that word doesn’t exactly fit, I just wanted to use it.

Anywho, it’s Monday.  For you losers out there with jobs, I hope it was just like most other Mondays…i.e. crappy!  However, for all of us, we’ve got three days off of NCAA tourney hoops so we’ve gotta fill the time with something else, I guess.  I would propose making up for lost time and hanging out with your respective families, but who wants to do that!?  Not us; that’s for sure.  Otherwise, we wouldn’t be hanging around this joint, huh?

Let’s get a few administrative items out of the way before I get you some linkys.  Oh yeah, and if you’ve got anything good that may be “The Morning After”-worthy, the chief has TMA duties so he’d appreciate you to drop him a link or two at sparty@spartyandfriends.com.

We had some junk go on around here today:

Mikey opened up the bizness week with TMA.  He barely covered the biggest sporting event of the previous day…the Bristol race!

GITC then attempted to pay up on his debts.  I think he needs a thumb broken in place of his weaksauce attempt.

Sparty gave us his best attempt at putting aside his intense Yankee-homer-fueled hatred of the Sawx and gave us an ‘09 season preview.

We had a guest post when esteemed commenter jpmanahan dropped a line on us about the mid-majors in the NCAA tourney.

GITC came back and applied his GITC Expectorant to yesterday’s action in The Association.

Onto some lesser-known sites and some linkys:

Our boy that runs TBL had himself a moment in the spotlight.  Check it for yourself.

The British have unsealed some of their classified UFO files.

Lance Armstrong jacked himself up during a race today.

Everyone’s fav humble, quiet pitcher confirmed his intentions to retire today.

The NFL owners meetings are going on this week.  Up for consideration, the Tom Brady Rule, the Wes Welker Rule, and the Hines Ward Rule.

Lil E. Tee, ‘92 Kentucky Derby champ, was euthenized last Wednesday.  He was 20.

Even though the big boyz aren’t playin’ tonight, we’ve got some NIT, CBI, and CIT action to tide us over.
