We here at Sparty and Friends love to get things wrong. Joe Lunardi is the resident Bracketologist at ESPN, and his claim to fame is that he gets them all right (on selection Sunday…). Well, I don’t have the time to seed them and put them in brackets with the playing locations of the teams to be named, but I can give ya who is in and who is out.
With the major conference tournaments starting this week, I thought I’d run down who is in and out as of Sunday’s final regular season showdowns.
The first part is fairly easy…(Red=earned berth)
There are a few things I should qualify.
Championship games make it hard to project the field sometimes. There are a few things that could happen today. Mississippi State killed another Bubble team with the SEC title, sorry Zona.

I still think that both Creighton and St. Mary’s deserved in over Arizona. I’m not sure who I’d take if I had to pick between those two, but I sure wouldn’t pick Arizona.
I do know that I blame the SEC for sucking and allowing Mississippi State to win their tourney. Or the A-10 for Dayton and Xavier failing to even make the finals. guyinthecorner(Quote)
Penn State’s meh non-conference schedule hurt them.
Gophers need to play after 2pm CDT! HawkEye19(Quote)
vitale is getting pwnd by bilas and digger. jpmanahan(Quote)
there is really an effort to defend st. mary’s out there. jpmanahan(Quote)
At least Bobby Knight is defending Penn State Johnny(Quote)
Bob Knight is an asshat, but Penn St. was definitely robbed. How can you take Michigan and Minnesota over them? That’s not right. knightwhosaysni(Quote)
Is anyone else going to play the hardcourt challenge on ESPN. Sorta like the gridiron challenge was for the NFL playoffs. I already set my roster and I think it’s pretty killer. knightwhosaysni(Quote)
nit brackets are out… jpmanahan(Quote)
holy poop, Purdue got screwed. sparty(Quote)

I don’t think so Sparty. Purdue’s draw is very winnable. Michigan State’s draw is very easy. knightwhosaysni(Quote)
ok sae. I’m in. It’s just you vs me so far. knightwhosaysni(Quote)
By the way I have Michigan State over Purdue in the final four and then winning the national championship. knightwhosaysni(Quote)
kwsn- the draw isn’t bad for Purdue, but the seed should be an insult to them. I like our draw, and being in Dayton, a lot of fans will travel. However, I don’t like Louisville, I don’t think we can beat them. sparty(Quote)
Louisville won’t get out of the first weekend. knightwhosaysni(Quote)
Also 4 or 5 doesnt really matter, they just play eachother anyway. They weren’t going to get a 3 so a 5 is fine. Wisconsin as a 12 is strange when Michigan and Minnesota are 10s. knightwhosaysni(Quote)
The 6 game losing streak got Wisconsin a 12. It also allows for a 12 over 5 upset. They try to create those instead of them just happening. Okay, more tomorrow. sparty(Quote)
Oklahoma over Pitt on the other side of my bracket. I don’t care who knows what my picks are. knightwhosaysni(Quote)
Wow Penn State didn’t even get a number 1 in the NIT
Oh well at least they’re on a collusion course for Trey’s Gators Johnny(Quote)
