I was very confused about this whole committee/ESPN thing as well. I thought the whole point of the committee was for them not to tip their hand ahead of time, but oh well.

CAA Tournament starts Friday, but starts Saturday for Mason because of their #2 seed, GO MASON!!!!!

In other news…

Patty Mills has been cleared for the West Coast Conference Tournament in Las Vegas and will play immediately as the broken bone in his hand has healed. St. Mary’s has a bye to the semi finals so they basically win one game and then take on Gonzaga. If Mills plays well the committee may have to put them in even with a loss to Gonzaga and discount the losses they suffered during the injury.

The comittee says that pretty much any team that finishes 9-9 in ACC play will get a spot.

my response: we have video or an actual statement by the committee about acc teams finishing .500?

There’s no video of the committee meeting but that’s what the analysts said the committee said after the meeting.

The entire tournament committee met at ESPN two weekends ago and had a 7-hour meeting in which they predicted the end of the regular and championship week seasons and constructed a bracket. The analysts watched but didn’t say anything and then reported what happened. The committee even turned over a complete bracket to ESPN which they then put on the dot com. They’ve done this for two years now.

so they came out with a bracket..that also predicted Georgetown winning the Big East tourney…so a blanket statement was never actually made, and you completely concocted it yourself that they did?

i very confused.

GITC…The ESPN employees conducted the mock selection. NOT the committee. A couple members went to help coach them a long…not to make any selections.
