Since we had such a hit with our last wrestling post, we thought we would continue the theme of best finishers, but this time taking a look at Tag Team Finishers.
Tag Team wrestling hasn’t been the same since the late 80s and early 90s. There were a plethora of great tag teams in the then WWF. Demolition, Orient Express, the Rockers, Strike Force, the Hart Foundation, Legion of Doom (aka Road Warriors), and the Dream Team (who remembers the members of that team?). There was a slight resurgence in the lates 90s with teams like the Dudley Boyz and the Hardy’s, but nothing like it was back when Saturday morning was the time to watch Rasslin’. We won’t get into wrestling stables, today. We all know what 4-some had the best of those.
A lot of these will require some patience, or just skipping to the end.
The Dudley Deathdrop
Demolition Decapitation
I couldn’t find a video with the Rockers Double Flying Fists or Double Superkick, so you get their epic breakup instead.
The Hart Attack
Doomsday Device
Bushwackers Battering Ram (yeah they kinda sucked, but there aren’t a lot of videos available online, damn Vince McMahon)
Strike Force Flying Forearm (I was a huge Strike Force fan)
If you can find other videos of your favorite tag team finishers, link them in the comments.

I miss the Rockers and their mullets. Sigh.
At least WWE brought back Marty Jannetty for a night last year. Shockingly, he was out of shape and unable to win a match. Hard to believe.

I actually remember being totally traumatized by seeing Jannetty go through the plate glass. It was one of the first heel turns I’d ever watched. Shawn Michaels has been on the wrong end of a bunch of heel storylines in his career.
(Quote)
Michaels played the heel so well as HBK back then. He was a great wrestler, but played the chicken-shit so well.
(Quote)
worst heel turn ever was Stone Cold. he had no choice but to act like a bitch, and it was killing his character.

Most of the tag teams nowadays are just 2 superstars thrown together…they don’t really give them team names or anything…I used to love the Demolition Brothers and LoD back in the day. Actually saw the Bushwackers at a HS show when I was younger and of course they licked a few peoples’ heads…not great wrestlers, but they provided a bit of entertainment.
(Quote)
of course, when Rick Martel turned on Tito Santana, I was devastated.
(Quote)
Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart are the reason that there are no good tag teams. Vince McMahon is always looking for his next great superstar, and when one of the guys stands out, he wants to push them as a singles wrestler.

I hate that the WWF/E got away from real tag teams.

I stumbled across an old vid on YouTube of Austin right after he turned heel. Him and Triple H absolutely beat the shit out of the Hardys and Lita. I mean he was killing her with chairshots. They were desperate to get him hated.
What?
(Quote)
cbh-and it worked for about a month. once Angle came back and they made him the goofy go lucky babyface, Austin looked like a whiny tool.
(Quote)
They did have some classic backstage skits though.
(Quote)
Some of the best backstage bits were when Edge and Christian teamed with Angle.
(Quote)
they reeked of awesomeness!
(Quote)
Definitely HawkEye, the 5 second pose was great.
(Quote)
Who here still watches wrestling?
(Quote)
Watch RAW and the major Pay Per Views.
/Ready to be made fun of
(Quote)
I used to watch RAW religously years ago, but I can’t stand the WWF/E now. It has so many things wrong with it, it’s just not worth my time.
(Quote)
i tune in once and awhile.
(Quote)
I only tune in when I realize it’s on/stumble across it and nothing else is on…don’t watch any PPVs…last time I watched constantly had to be about 6 years ago or more.

Not a big fan of the new manufactured tag teams. Since I am the old guy here for me it’s the original Texas Outlaws: Dusty Rhodes and Dick Murdoch. Liked the Hart Foundation and the Steiners. Some other old school tag teams I liked were Steve Keirn and Mike Graham, the Brisco Brothers, the Missouri Mauler & the Masked Assasin, and the Minnesota Wrecking Crew: Ole & Arn Anderson.

So tomorrow can we expect best Female finishing moves?
/sincere

I never watch anymore. It just got too ludicrous. Seems like it is geared toward the male 10-22 year old demographic.

Here’s a good list with pics…
(Quote)
I used to watch just about every Monday. Then WWE did that terrible necrophilia angle. I was done after that.
(Quote)
nobody took a shot at telling me who the Dream Team was? without looking at that list that knightro provided
(Quote)
Nice site knightro…reminded me of the Acolytes, New Age Outlaws, Headshrinkers, Men on a Mission, Nasty Boys, the Headbangers, and Rock N’ Sock…enjoyed watching all of those.
(Quote)
thought dream team has hogan and savage
(Quote)
The Acolytes…nothing better than a Vampire themed tag team, whose manager spits blood.
(Quote)
I was at a hurricane victim fundraising event one night and spent about 20 minutes talking to Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart. He’s a pretty funny and personable guy.
(Quote)
no, Hogan and Savage were the Mega-Powers.
(Quote)
I thought the Acolytes were the former Florida St. football player guy and the cowboy investor guy?
(Quote)
Dream Team was Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake I believe.
(Quote)
ding! and who was dream team 2?
(Quote)
Hawkeye is thinking of the Brood.
(Quote)
Valentine and Dino Bravo.
/I had to cheat on that one.
(Quote)
john, Ron Simmons was the FSU football player.
(Quote)
Yes, I was thinking about the Brood. Didn’t the Acolytes come out of the Undertaker’s stable of freaks (for lack of a better description)?
(Quote)
Yea, the Acolytes came from when Undertaker came back and was all super weird and evil…they were part of his posse along with Mideon (Mabel from Men on a Mission) and the weird guy who I can’t recall (former Blue Meanie?).
(Quote)
They had Mideon, was who was formerly Phineus Godwin, and Viscera, formerly Mabel, along with the Acolytes.
(Quote)
cbh–Good catch…misremembered (/Clemens’d) Viscera…I knew it didn’t seem right.
(Quote)
Instead of a finishers list, maybe a best and worst gimmicks of all time.
(Quote)
hawkeye, i already have things planned. that is on there.
(Quote)
That’s why you’re the boss, sparty!
