NBA Studs & Duds 2/12

By guyinthecorner

sad-logoLast night a record was broken. Stud of the Day Nate Robinson broke the record for shortest ever Stud of the Day. Nate, if you’re reading, your trophy will be in the mail as soon as you make a dunk in the final round of the 200d Sprite Rising Stars Dunk Contest. Nate didn’t help the Knicks beat the Clippers, 128-124 in another defensive breakdown. The Cavs, led by Stud Mo Williams, beat the Suns in Cleveland. The Nuggests went into Orlando and beat the ‘Gic even though nobody actually played well for either team. The Sixers, led by Stud Andre Miller, pulled out a close one at home against the Grizz. The Raptors, led by Roko Ukic (yeah, you heard me) because Calderon and Bosh got the night off, beat the Spurs by two despite the best efforts of Stud (and baldy) Manu Ginobili. The Hawks went into Detroit and won a good game against the Pistons. The Bucks, who continue to finally use Ramon Sessions (read my Bucks preview), beat the Pacers and it wasn’t really that close. The Celts beat the Hornets despite the Dud play of Ray Allen (who also injured a finger) because CP3 had only a few awesome plays instead of the usual slew. Yao led the Rockets past the Kings, Stud Deron Williams led the Jazz past Kobe and company, and the Blazers took care of the Thunder. Full lists and top 10 after the jump.

About The Author

Guyinthecorner is an author here at spartyandfriends.com. He writes the NBA section, X-Games section, and contributes to College Basketball and MLB. He doesn’t watch hockey except when the circumstances are dire. He’s not sure how to rate Michael Phelps on the scale of athletes not only because he doesn’t directly compete against people, but because he is a fish. He doesn’t understand the hate for the 2002 National Champion Maryland Terrapins and wishes everybody would just shut up by now. He is known for having statistical formulas and might be Bill James or Joe Lunardi depending on who you ask. His identity is as hidden as many times over as the number of internet memes he employs in his comments. Some have called him “The Riddler.” He can be reached at gitc@spartyandfriends.com. “GITC” is an acronym for guyinthecorner in case you aren’t that perceptive.
