Now I’m not a huge video gamer, but one thing phased out with today’s modern HD home video game systems are arcades. This list brought me back to the days of yesteryear where bugging your parents for 2 bucks to go play at the arcade was just a pain in the ass.
I like this list, but here are some of my favs.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…FOUR PLAYERS! Explosions! Interacting with the scene. Talking! How bad ass was that game?
- WWF Superstars – You couldn’t stop the Ultimate Warrior! What the hell is going on in that picture? Seriously.
- Golden Axe – The Dwarf could seriously eff those bad guys up.
- NBA JAM – The game altered sports video gaming. Why? Because they used real names and real liknesses. The game even came with Mike Iuzzolino. THE Mike Iuzzolino.
- The Simpsons – I have one speck of nerdiness about me. I know everything about the Simpsons. Sure it was a cheap ripoff of the Ninja Turtles game, but it has THE SIMPSONS! Naturally, this game is on my list. 
- PacMan - Jut cuz’
- Frogger – jump. jump. splat. Sounds like Friday night at the CHX residence.

Dig Dug and Qbert were good too. The Dairy Queen across the street from where I grew up had video games in it ‘back in the day’.

didn’t have much for arcades in my hometown so my brother and i used to love riding up to green bay with my grandparents. they’d give us each $5, while my grandma dragged my poor grandpa around the mall. one mall had an Aladdin’s Castle and I think the other’s was called Gold Mine

I used to destroy Galaga at the local pizza joint. It actually makes me sad that I can download it on an emulator on my cell phone…

Blades of Steel was awesome! other NES sports games we wore out were pro wrestling, double dribble, rbi baseball, bases loaded. and tecmo bowl and tecmo super bowl of course

You all are spoiled. When I was a kid, I had to play that electronic football game where the field buzzed and the players all just spun around in circles and the hockey game with the guys on long rods that slid up and down the “ice” and just rotated.

I have actually witnessed the legend of NBA Jam being haunted. I feel lucky to be in this group because unless there is an original edition NBA Jam arcade game near you, or you experienced the very rare event in the past, you are out of luck to join this group.
