Don’t hold your breath, because you will not get a full post dedicated from me on the New York Football Giants loss to the Eagles. Bottom line, they lost to the Eagles who played good enough football to beat them in a one and done playoff match-up. You want to see how many of us NYFG fans feel? Check out RWH’s review. Though I don’t agree with all of it, he basically tells you how most reacted immediately.
It was a pretty awesome 12 months being the WCNYFG. I have been very blessed as a sports fan. Only one team has ever let me down, year in, and year out. That is the Michigan State Spartans football team. I have seen minimal success. When I say minimal success I mean I have seen them win 10 games in a season twice in 20 years of following them. 1 Rose Bowl appearance (1987), and 2 Big 10 titles, none since 1990. In that time I have seen 3 Super titles, 4 Stanley Cups, 3 NBA Titles, and 4 WS titles and National Title in basketball. Not bad, especially since 13 of those came in a 12 year span. But doesn’t take the sting of Sunday’s loss away.
I do look forward to the Super Bowl, no matter who is playing. Last year I didn’t eat much during the game because I was in knots. This year will be a nice time hanging out with people and complaining about Plaxico. What a difference a year makes…While we are on the topic of Plax, everyone, and I mean everyone is hinting that he will be back in a Giants uniform next season (Trey says he isn’t going to jail, he’s a lawya).
We touched on this yesterday, but it if official; Tony Dungy has retired from the Colts, and coaching. The man has always impressed me, we will be covering Dungy more later. That is what we call a tease in the biz.
I am still not ok with what went down yesterday for the National Baseball Hall of Fame vote. Let me just say, Rickey Henderson is one of the greatest baseball players, ever. The other guy? No. That is how one should vote for the Hall. Simple. Why is it what happened yesterday so bad? Because this guy is going to get in now.
Back to the Hot Stove! Michael Young wants out of Texas. Suck it, Miz.
Will any Scott Boras client ever sign with the Boston Red Sox, again?
I, I, I, uh…. um, yeah. I really don’t know what to say.
Sasha is without a brain. That masterful motivator Phil Jackson is back at it again.
You all need to recognize the greatness of the Chicago Bulls team that won 72 games. Do you realize that Dennis Rodman could guard anybody in the league? He could step out on a guard, or frustrate a center on the block.
Rodman deserves to have his number retired at the Palace too. Even if he no-shows the ceremony. The Worm was as big as anyone on the Bad Boys. Sometimes it amazes me as to how shy this guy once was.
MMMMM…beer-flavored popcorn. /Homer’d
Has our country become that bad we don’t even think that this is swearing:
Tebow won the title with a bad shoulder. I don’t care if it wasn’t his throwing shoulder. The dude is a beast.

We better have a Studs & Duds today.
(Quote)
there were 5 games, so we will.
(Quote)
Pierce still won’t be a Stud because of GITC’s stupid secret formula.
(Quote)
It’s going to be Okur or Pierce battling for the #1 spot…and if it’s Okur, I’m going to start copying and pasting TMQ’s into all of GITC’s posts.
(Quote)
Okur is on his fantasy team, he may have the inside track.

Possibly related posts: Financial Times Whacking 80.

LeBron joining the Browns…

Hilarious and I would watch it.

what would have been even funnier if that story was written about the Reds mascot, and him doing gay porn with Eddy Curry.

Hey Hawk, have a kid yet? (it’s this week, right?)
(Quote)
Nope, no kid yet. Due date was on Sunday, so I have a very pregnant, very crabby wife right now. How’s your wife, Marco?
(Quote)
Home. She took a leave as of monday (hypertension). Official due date is this sunday, but she’s ready to pop out a kid.
I never believed that hormonal swings were real. Until now. Makes for an interesting evening watching laughter turn into tears without warning. Much better than TV.

is tony dungy a sure-fire hall of famer?
(Quote)
Sure-fire HOFer? No. HOFer? Probably at some point.
(Quote)
yes, yes he is.
(Quote)
Dungy:
– record for most consecutive 12-win seasons (6 straight).
– record for most consecutive playoff appearances (10 strainght).
– 2nd highest winning percentage among coaches who coached at least 100 games with the same team.
– 1 Super Bowl win.
– along with Lovie, first black head coach in SB.
– first black coach to win SB.
Dungy = HOF lock.
(Quote)
he deserves to be after being the man responsible for resurrecting the Tampa Bay Bucs (before Gruden takes the credit). and then becoming the 1st African-American head coach to win the Super Bowl.
(Quote)
it also helps that he has some guys named peyton, marvin, reggie, joseph, edge, brandon, bob, etc… along the way….
(Quote)
Jimmy Johnson – 2 Super Bowls, 80-64 record? (after a 1-15 start) 6 of 9 years in the playoffs. 9-4 Playoff record.
Not in the Hall of Fame…
(Quote)
Maybe I’m imagining it, but NFL coaches (no matter how good they are) aren’t HOF locks. They may get in eventually, but they aren’t first ballot material.
(Quote)
who will be 1st ballot material now amongst the current coaches?
would belichick be that one, for example?
(Quote)
With the elimination of San Diego last weekend, we all officially suck at predictions
(Quote)
Belichick without a doubt.
Potentially Shannahan (well he’s kinda current).
And Tom Cable.
