NBA Studs & Duds 12/10

I love Shaqfu. The other guy? Not so much.

LATE EDIT: There has been a three-team trade in the NBA. The New Orleans Hornets traded away Mike James to the Wizards in return for two draft picks. A conditional first round pick from the Wizards that they received (ironically) from the Grizzlies last year in the Juan Carlos Navarro trade, and another conditional second round pick from the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies trade away (along with the second rounder to New Orleans) point guard Javaris Crittenton to the Wizards and receive in return Antonio Daniels. The Wizards will drop Dee Brown to make room for James and Crittenton.

Great night of NBA action last night. As you will see in the Studs, we have Tim Duncan and Jason Kidd (no, seriously) going off for their respective teams. On the other hand if you can’t make the top of the Stud list with 50 minutes of playing time (they played 2 OT’s) you might want to stop calling yourself a star player. The Wiz beat the Pistons in Rodney Stuckey’s semi-coming-out party despite having two guys on the Dud list. Basically, Caron took over. The Cavs desroyed another team. This time it was the Raptors. Big Z took the Cavs all-time leading rebounder title as LeBron did the same with steals. That’s right LeBron is the leader in fr4anchise history in a major category of a 38-year-old franchise despite being just 23-years-old. That makes sense. He also narrowly missed the Dud list because he didn’t play the 4th quarter again (6th time in 8 games). He had a slew of crazy dunks that you need to catch the highlights of. Artest came back from a one game injury to lead the Rockets past the Hawks as Maurice Evans became the first player this season to earn back-to-back Dud of the Day (non-)honors. The Suns beat up the Bucks behind Shaq. I told you. Shaq is still a great player. He is no longer the best player but still commands a double-team every play. The Bucks chose to not double him… Stud list. The Magic beat the Blazers as the refs screwed up by calling a putback of an airball a shot clock violation. That allowed the Magic to come from behind on the next play when an ugly dude hit an ugly shot. And the Lakers lost to the Kings as John Salmons shut down Kobe with his superb defense. The Studs and Duds also has a new feature that you can see after the jump…

The new feature is the top 10 plays of last night courtesy of the NBA. Enjoy!
