The Morning After: December 5, 2008

By sparty

The Morning AfterThat was an enjoyable two days off from TMA.  Mikey did a fine job while I slept an extra hour each morning, and I thank him for it.

The reason I asked someone to help out an extra morning was because I was fighting yet another cold.  I was never sick before I had a kid.  I  always had an extremely strong immune system, but it is no longer what it once was.  Seems like the extra rest helped quite a bit.

Also took the time to write a couple different posts.  Now that all the sports are underway, no more preview posts until the NFL playoffs.  Those have been filling up our slots the last couple months, and I actually hate them.

I know Mikey and I have both touched on NYC Mayor, Mike Bloomberg’s opinion in regards to Plaxico Burress.  Now he is making a joke out the incident by taking cheap shots at Burress and the organization.  I can assure you that when the Champs go down the Canyon of Heroes for the second year in a row in February, the head of Big Apple will only be invited to speak so that all fans of the Champs can boo the shit out him.   They will drown him out so that he will not be able to hear himself talk.

I am beginning to believe that Antonio Pierce is going to be ok in all of this with the law, and will only be spoken to sternly by the Commish.

The NFLPA is stepping up to support the 5 players suspended by the NFL for using a banned substance.

The New York Jets Shaun Ellis had a bad weekend too.  He was busted for pot, speeding, and driving without insurance.  A trifecta!

The Yankees are starting to ramp up their free agency activity.  Cashman sat down with Boras, CC is next.

A-Rod is turning his back on the country that he has lived in his entire life.  He plans to play for the Dominican Republic in the WBC.

Too Much WCNYFG and Yankee stuff?  That’s what happens when I am gracious and write a nice post about the Sawx.  Deal with it.

If you are a former Michigan State WR, are you just destined for trouble?  First Mark Ingram, then Plaxico Burress, now Charles Rogers.

One thing has always been true since the Pistons acquired Rasheed Wallace in 2004.  They go, as he goes.

Ok whiz kid, let’s see how good you are as a GM.  Go to the Lions.

As commenter Johnny reported here yesterday, the Mullet is back at the WWL.

Miz insisted that I show you how horrible Tennessee Volunteer football players really are.

Don’t worry buddy, Texas Tech Red Raiders aren’t much better.

This is simply for Clown, Texas defeats UCLA.

If you have not seen Iron Man, do not click on this link.  Contains spoiler.  I thought the movie was one of the most well done comic book movies ever, and I am pumped up about the following, um stuff.

We are so much like the Roman Empire, we are so eventually screwed.

Miz mentioned during Happy Hour yesterday about how he almost lost his arm the first time he used a shotgun.  This girl almost lost her eye.

If soccer had stuff like this happen every game, maybe I would watch more.

One more video for the road…
