The Morning After: November 18, 2008

By sparty

Should we be a responsible site and lead off with real news?  Maybe we should talk some more about Mark Cuban?  The man is being charged by the SEC for possible insider trading.  This most undoubtedly will probably cost him his bid at becoming the owner of the Chicago Cubs.

Maybe we should start out talking about Albert Pujols finally winning the NL MVP?

Maybe we could even start out  with last nights MNF contest between the Bills and the Browns?  A game that was incredibly sloppy and horrid, and never should have been on in primetime.  The Browns won on a late FG.  Brady Quinn looked more like a QB playing in his 2nd NFL start.  He did not do too much.  The Bills were in a very giving mood, turning the ball over 4 times.  The highlight of the game took place in our final post last night. Check out what the fellas spotted.

Better yet, we could be like SportsCenter and PTI on the 4 letter, and lead off talking about the Dallas Cowgirls and their improbable 6th win of the season to pull them into a tie with Washington for a distant second place in the NFC East.  Yeah that is how one should start, that is so much more interesting than everything else.  Imagine of Favre played for the Cowgirls?

Screw it, lets talk about Pat Williams and Kevin Williams looking at suspensions for breaking league rules regarding the use of weight loss diuretics.  These guys are suppose to be the premier DT tandem in the league *cough*Barry Coefield*cough*Fred Robbins*.  The Vikings can kiss any playoff appearance goodbye if they lose these guys for any games, along with DE Jared Allen for his hit on Aaron Rodgers.  The Vikings were a sweet pick by many to be the surprise to in the NFC, but have failed to live up to the hype.

That whole idea didn’t work the way I wanted it to.  Meh.

Longtime Bucs safety, Jon Lynch, retired after 15 years in the NFL.  Anyone else feel like Lynch was overrated as a player?

Each summer I watch a little bit of the LLWS and see these kids that are 12 years old throwing curve balls.  We rarely see these guys make the Major Leagues.  Why?  Because most of them are having surgery end their career before it ever gets started.  Therefore I have made the decision to teach Lil Sparty how to throw the hard fastball, a changeup, and….the knuckleball.  Why the knuckleball?  Well it obviously will have the least amount of stress on the elbow.  But even chicks are taking advantage of the pitch few learn to master.

Speaking of Japan baseball.  The Yanks were able to sell Darrel Rasner to a team in Japan for 1 million dollars.  That is like selling Babe Ruth again.  Except it is nothing like that.

Here is another reason why you should home school your kids in Florida.  No GatorTrey, it is not a story about Tebow.

Here is one of the biggest reasons why the Rockets threesome of Yao, Artest and McGrady won’t win anything.  T-Mac has the body of a 55 year old.

Kevin Garnett was suspended one game for slapping Andrew Bogut like a little girl.  Shaq was fined but should have been put in jail.

Poor NJIT, they have not seen a win in 35 attempts.  The latest loss to Penn State.

We should be seeing heroin use up in Seattle again.  Maybe another Nirvana will surface.  It is getting really depressing up there.

Hank Steinbrenners facebook page.

Jeremy Affeldt is stupid. He would have been able to get a similar deal with someone else, why go to the abyss that is San Fran?

Philly fans, how do you really feel about Donovan McNabb being a moron?

Maybe I should start showing more of an interest in that show, Chuck.  She seems like enough of a reason to watch.
